Time was of the essence when it came to possible war. I managed to get ready very quickly but took a few moments to look at the mark for myself. It was silver and in the shape of two crescent moons facing outwards, the symbol of Selene, the Goddess. The nurse that was helping me change even gasped a little when she saw it, but I tried to ignore her.

Emerial explained. “The tree that forms a circle with its roots and branches is the symbol for Mother Nature and the crown is made of roses and laurel leaves, it’s Gaia’s crown.” I explained.

Goosebumps rise on her flesh under my hand which is resting on the golden lotus. She pulls her hair to one side and holds onto it as she shuffles and turns onto her front. “What the fuck?” my wolf growls the same words that I have to bite back so I don’t worry her. Right between her shoulder blades is a sparrow. My special name for her, and also the Greek symbol of love and connection. That is… well it’s crazy that her mark would contain such a crystal clear image of the tiny bird… but it is not that that bothers me or my wolf. The easily six inch wide wreath of monkshood surrounding the bird is what has set my beast off.
