Chapter 1: Into the Woods "In the wilderness, my soul strums to the rhythm of uncured bliss." THIRD PERSON'S POV Blurry Vision of the place, that's the first thing she saw. She keeps on blinking her eyes until the vision was clear. At first, the darkness welcomes her and the eerie feeling of the surroundings. An eleven-year-old white-haired girl loses her way back home. The cold gush of the wind made her a little shiver, but she handles it well, due to her unique existence.

Nothing happened, as a matter of fact. She peeled one eye open at first, surprised to notice him standing before her with another book in his hand. Intently peering down at her. "I believe this will also be of your taste," he gently offered it to her, patiently waiting for her to take it. She could feel her cheeks heating up, growing a little embarrassed by her own childish reactions. Eros and Psyche, the title read as she lowered her gaze to the book in his hand, making her shift it back up to peer into his hypnotic blue eyes.

Damon tightened his grip, and together, they surged forward, a force neither darkness nor shadow could contain. The twilight deepened, stretching across the forest like liquid ink, yet Eva’s light burned, unwavering, marking the beginning of a new reckoning. Every step forward was a claim, every spark a promise. Tonight was not just survival it was awakening, and she would meet the coming night with fire in her veins, shadows at her back, and Damon by her side.

’ She muttered silently. With bated breath, Emma watched as Elder Ethan turned to the hidden chapter, the pages crackling with anticipation. 11:58 PM Two minutes left. Alpha Killian sat at the edge of the bed. His body started trembling. His breath grew heavier, like he was holding something back. I saw the veins in his neck tighten. His hands clenched the sheets. And I started feeling it too. A change. Heat rising in my chest. My back tingled like it was being licked by fire. My temperature rose. My wolf was awakening. 11:59 PM “Alpha…” I whispered. My body wouldn’t stay still. I pulled the blanket tighter around me. But my instincts wanted me to move closer. My breathing turned heavier. I knew this wasn’t desire. It was blood calling to blood. The pull of the moon.

As we drifted into slumber, I couldn't help but smile, knowing that our love had the power to overcome any obstacle that stood in our way. Every time I catch the smell of woodsmoke drifting from one of the rooms below, I’m reminded of his scent. Twilight arrives, and my room is painted in grey shadow. I’m reading about how a wolf bite can activate the wolf gene in a half-wolf, when someone knocks on the door. I drop the book.

My shadow stirred. It rose, blacker than the abyss itself, writhing like a living thing. And when the beast roared in the distance, my shadow smiled. For the first time, so did kael. --- ☠️ End of Chapter 1.
