The hunter just smirked at me, staying silent. I stepped closer and threw my fist into the side of his face. Growls of excitement came from around me. “Answer me” I growled. The hunter spat blood from his mouth and looked back at me with a grin. I lowered my head and growled a warning, if he isn’t going to answer he isn’t going to live.

His gaze ascends to bore into Hunter’s eyes. “I’m bond. James bond,” Atticus mocks. Hunter detracts his hand and I shake my head at him. “I’m Lele Ballo and this is my younger brother Atticus and my little bro, Josh.” Joshua warmly waves his hand at Hunter and he kindly smiles back at him. Hunter’s gaze springs between Atticus and I, and he jams his thumb behind his shoulder to signal to the stable behind him. “I assume you were heading for a ride?” I nod and Hunter looks back at me with an earnest expression.

And without hesitation, I end him. Behind me, Liam barrels through two hunters like a damn freight train. He’s in his hybrid form, and the terror in the Hunter's eyes causes his beast to let out one of those haunting howls. His massive curved claws dig into the neck of one of the Hunters, ripping it clean off as if he were tearing a piece of paper. I run around the macabre scene. Three hunters move toward Felix near the stairwell. Felix looks like hell. Pale, fresh blood stains his side, but he still fights like a wildcat. He ducks beneath a blade and drives his shoulder into one hunter.

They’d joined the Seafall hunters when their search for a Knucker, a shape shifting water spirit, had brought them to our coastal town. Not the deer-and-rabbit kind. The ones who bear hatred for werewolves. They pretty much want to wipe every werewolf off the map. Good or bad, it doesn’t matter to them.” She paused and glanced at them. “Alex, you look like you just got indigestion. Are you okay?” Alexander looked up slowly, worry all over his face. “Those two back there...” he muttered.

His eyes looked relaxed, not anything like they were seconds ago when he looked at Collin. “You as well, Invisi-boy,” Callie dramatically bowed back. “Callie!” I shrieked. He is standing with his back turned against me, his eyes trained on the other person. I focus on him instead. He looks stunned, his eyes widened, and his lips parted. “That is impossible,” he mutters, shaking his head. “That veil hasn’t been breached in years. Who could have…” “Only one breed,” he drawls. “Hunters.” “Shit!” I didn’t think they were going to figure it out so fast. My breath hitches in my throat when he angles his head a fraction, when everything suddenly stops, as if he can sense me.

His companions were not far behind him and in the blink of an eye they were gone, leaving their drinks behind. Cathy threw her hands in the air. “Great! Now they have the rest of my money and I have half my orders.” “Teddy get Frank to get three trucks of our best wine and beers over here now.” Teddy went off to carry out his order while Theodore wiped his hands and with a smirk winked at Taylor who despite her boss’s obvious dislike of the man, blushed. Cathy rolled her eyes. The man was a charmer but she knew the truth about him. He was a dangerous Hunter who abducted and slit throats for a living. The kind of person she didn’t want around her.
