She stood there for a second, then smiled politely.
"Hi."
The chef returned the smile, his expression warm but professional. "Good evening, miss."
Mona stepped a little closer, curiosity already getting the better of her as she watched him work.
His knife moved fast.
Too fast.
"How do you do that?" she asked, tilting her head slightly.
The chef paused briefly. "Do what?"
"That," she pointed lightly. "You're cutting onions and you're not crying. I cry every time. It's embarrassing."
