The air was thick with the scent of sweat and exhaustion.
Cherry flopped onto the bench in her oversized hoodie, stretching her arms dramatically. “So Red, huh?” she said, eyes glittering with mischief. “Big, scary, silent type swooping in to save our little Ivy. I think I’m in love.”
Ivy, still pulling on her jeans, rolled her eyes. “Cherry, stop.”
“Oh, come on,” Cherry whined playfully. “He was like—bam! Creepy guy’s gone. Ivy’s saved. The crowd goes wild. You could’ve kissed him.”
