Sylar and Myra walked ahead of them as they began their trek back to the house. "What about frying up some chicken?" Jayce suggested. Zyrus' eyes lit up instantly, "With fried onions, green beans, jalapenos..." he started listing off vegetables, watching as Zyrus' face slowly twisted into disgust. He released their hands and ran over to his siblings, leaving Lily to laugh. Zyrus tackled his brother, shifting once more. Myra groaned loudly at her younger brothers as they fought again. "So much for having a peaceful lunch." Jayce grumbled, his hand finding hers again. As I hit the bottom, the smell of roasted chicken fills the air, and my stomach rumbles despite my frayed nerves. In the living room, a sight I definitely don't expect greets me. Axel is still on the couch, now just tearing into a chicken leg. He's wrapped in a rumpled blanket from his torso down, looking totally at ease. Raphael, who was like a silent statue before, isn't so formal anymore. He's parked right next to Axel, both of them chowing down on chicken like it's the most normal damn thing in the world. I could see that he was uneasy as he took a sip of the juice and continued with the pie. "Yes, you and I have so much in common, one of which is that we'll always choose chicken over everything else." "Especially over Turkey!" I said. "I mean, who the fuck would choose turkey over chicken?" "That's the same question on my mind." Felix agreed, taking another huge chunk of chicken pie and munching on it. We ate in silence for a while. Felix looked up at me shyly a few times, but avoided eye contact with me. I could see the anxiety in the way he held his pie, I knew there was something on his mind.
