The night before Christmas, my husband makes it official with his 49th mistress. "Love of my life, @TiffanyVale." "Love of my life, @RomanBlackwell." Then he turns to me and tries to smooth it over. "She lost a dare. Don't take it to heart." Everyone laughs at me, but I don't make a scene. What they don't know is that I have a deal with the System. Every time Roman cheats, a year of his life transfers to me. By now, his 80 years are down to just one. All I have to do is make it past New Year's, and he drops dead of natural causes. Then I can take our three children and inherit the Blackwell family's trillion-dollar fortune.

Valen was though worried on whatever he made her aware of after the first lecture in the corridor, yet she did not stop grazing the baked snack during the late hours of the night. The month of December has already brought along a rippling atmosphere with the grains of snow barfing in the room along the breezy air. It has started snowing lately after she returned home. Hardly has it been few hours and already the entire city was covered with the white layer of snow welcoming the Christmases joy. “Christmas is in five days,” I tell Nathan as I take a sip from my hot chocolate. This is my first Christmas with him. I don’t know how I’m going to spend it. I’m excited like a little child and my heart is jumping up and down, but I’m trying to appear composed before him.

As the glistening snow falls on the city of Philadelphia, people from all over the city prepare for the most joyous time of year, which most people like to call, Christmas. The one holiday where people would get together with their friends and families to celebrate this momentous occasion. Wherein they could enjoy a cup of cocoa by the fireplace, set up a Christmas tree and fill it with ornaments, drink eggnog with all their friends until they had enough, and most importantly, receive and give gifts. But on this momentous occasion, Conrad decided to do something different this year, along with his friends and family.

Every Christmas he'd Sneak in the kid's room and leave there a gift according To how nice they'd been all year long.

"That's what Christmas is all about, isn't it? The spirit of giving." Kiki nodded as she watched Santa pass out the gifts to the children, one by one. "It sure is." Children squealed with delight as they opened their gifts. At that moment, Kiki didn't want to be anywhere else. She and Evelyn spent the rest of the evening watching the children open gifts until they could hardly hold their eyes open. When the last gift had been passed out, Santa gathered the children around and read A Visit from St. Nicholas, better known as 'Twas the Night Before Christmas. A few minutes later, Abby approached Kiki, her eyes drooping.

The Christmas celebration rocked the house while music about Santa ho-ho-ing, jingled, and lights twinkled. Garish decoration abounded with every clich‚ known to mankind displayed from snowmen, to mangers, to a little village of penguins dressed in pointy red hats. God she loved it. "What's so wrong with Christmas, Mr. Scrooge?" I take a swig of my beer, finishing the rest of the bottle, and shrug my shoulders. "There's nothing wrong with Christmas. I just looked at it differently I guess. When I was little, I was a weird kid. All my friends would be so excited for Christmas and they all told me how they stayed up late so that they could meet Santa, but not me. Nope, I stayed awake to try and capture the creep sneaking into my house once a year." As soon as I finish that sentence, a roar of laughter emits from all three of them.
