Chloe whispers, and my eyebrows lift. Seems like my mate also wants to forget about the outside world. A smirk pulls at my lips as I think about the fact she wants me too. "Everything we do is new, Chloe. Last time you tried something new, I almost came the second I slid into you," I whisper, and her eyes darken as she blushes. "Well...you might come even faster this time," Chloe says before biting her lip. Her blush deepens, and my heart rate rises. Sweet torturous anticipation takes over my entire body. I lick my lips, and her eyes follow the movement almost hungrily.

“And I’m sure that your very businesslike interaction with him is the reason behind why you’ve been touching your cheek in the same spot every few minutes. Like right now.” An instant blush creeps over my face, and I realize that Chloe is right; I am touching my cheek right now, in the exact spot where Damon wiped the flour off of me. I quickly lower my hand and look away. “Did he kiss you or something?” Chloe teases. “No.” I scowl at her. “He wiped some flour off of my face.” “Ooh.” Chloe leans in a little closer. “‘Oh, Prince Damon, I’m such a mess,’” she coos in a sing-song whisper. “‘I know I look like a lowly scullery maid, but I swear I’m so much more than that!’”

Jordan had dirty blonde hair, brown eyes and a lean body. He could of been an athlete but Jordan didn't want to become a jock for reasons that were obvious to everyone else except Trix.

“This is your size. Someone specifically picked this out for you.” My face is on fire. “Was it a guy?” Jazz’s eyes light up. “Oh my God, was it a guy?” “No!” “It’s like it’s a guy,” Indie chimed in. “Look at her face!” “It wasn’t—there’s no guy—” “Then why are you blushing?” “I’m not blushing!” “You’re literally the color of a tomato right now.”

My thumb hovered over the screen. There was another message underneath the photograph. Stop asking questions. That was it. No name. No explanation. No threat written in dramatic capital letters. Just three words. Four quiet words that somehow felt more frightening than a paragraph of violence. My heart began pounding. I stared at the photograph again. Ruelle's building. My coat. The coffee. The exact moment I'd walked outside. Whoever had taken it had been watching me. My mouth went dry. I looked out the window.

and as he began his reapproach with an ever-deepening sneer, Blue flattened against the wall in preparation. "Step back, Leitner," Blue's eyes brightened instantly as she turned to watch a man appear from the street—dark sunglasses, an unmistakable wedding band and a sneer she couldn't best if she tried. Before she could land a triumphant slap across the woman beater's shit-eating grin, he began to laugh a deep and somewhat maniacal chorus that instantly sapped Blue of any victory.

I snapped my eyes open. The sunlight was so bright it made me want to cry. No gloomy werewolf castle, no stench of blood. Just dry, cool air from the AC vents, and the smell of potato chips mixed with leather seats. Before, I would have thought this was heaven. But now, I found it too quiet. Quiet enough... to make me want to spill blood. "You awake?" A lazy voice came from beside me. It was Chloe. She was fixing her makeup in a small mirror, her signature blonde hair shining in the sun. Her neck was smooth and flawless, free of the fatal scar from the silver cage.

With that whispered to her. "Very smart of you. You know, every good girl gets a reward!" She looked at me really flushed this time. Her ears were red and face perfectly flushed. She swallowed, really deep and hard. She looked out of breath which made me tease her further this time out loud. "And do not forget to breath Miss Blanchard!" I said that looking at her with a straight face. The confusion in her eyes is what I needed exactly to see. I know I had her confused making her feel like she is imagining things. For the first time I could see she involuntarily kept mute. Perfect, exactly how I want her to be sometimes.

"Whatever.. Anyway guys this is my cousin Bliss who is going to be staying with us for the time being and Bliss this is Chloe and Piper" Chloe is the blond and Piper is the flour girl. "Hey, nice to meet you Bliss" they say simultaneously and suddenly Piper pulls me into a hug... I stiffen at first because I am not used to people accepting me so quickly and then she start patting my back and I relax into her hold. "Welcome to the family Fresher... You are highly welcome" she remarks.. Did I forget to say she scents like flour mixed with butter. What do I expect anyway when she is baking.

Chloe let out a sharp, humorless chuckle. Then, suddenly, she grabbed the scissors from the table. At that moment, I was holding a large peony bloom, its lush petals obscuring my view. I only noticed the glint of metal just as I lowered the flower—just in time to see the sharp tip of the scissors flashing toward my face. Instinct took over. I shoved her hand away with force. "Ah! That hurts!" Chloe shrieked in pain. I looked down and saw a thin red gash appear on her pale arm, blood welling up almost instantly.
