HIS TO RUIN
My own reflection, hard and unflinching, stared back at him.
“I’m not who you think I am,” I said, voice low but steady. The words cut through the tense silence. “I’m not Selene.”
His brows furrowed, confusion etching itself deeper across his face. His jaw tightened.
“I’m Christine Franklin,” I said, letting the name fall between us like a hammer striking glass. “And this… this was my second kill.”
Damien’s mouth opened again, and this time he found no words. His hands hovered uselessly in the air, trembling. His eyes darted between me and Marcus’s body, soaked in blood, still smirking weakly up at me, and back to me.
