No, no, no. That’s wrong. That can’t be right. My brain recoils from the image like it’s poisonous.
The world drops away beneath me. I fall. And fall. And fall. Into thick, suffocating darkness.
It presses in from every side, swallowing everything — sound, light, air.
Everything except that stupid beeping.
