Blood Beneath the Cypress Knees

Blood Beneath the Cypress Knees

The frog reared back, its glowing pustules pulsing violently. Rio’s eyes widened. “It’s about to spit something. MOVE!” Junie sprinted sideways as a torrent of acidic bile erupted from the creature’s mouth. The stream hit the ground where she’d stood a heartbeat ago, melting mud and bone alike in a hissing spray. Lucien blurred forward, leaping high. He drove both claws into the frog’s left eye, the creature shrieking as it thrashed violently. But before he could strike again, a massive webbed hand swatted him from the air like a fly.

Cielo: Chronicle of untold truths

Cielo: Chronicle of untold truths

she winked at him and she could hear him groan softly. “You know, ever since we walked in here, I've had that urge of bending you over this table and fucking you till you can no longer stand properly,” he continued with the same tone he used. Cielo laughed at his statement, popping a chocolate bar into her mouth. The action was meant to torment Giovanni and it was already working. She stretched her hand and placed it on his thigh, feeling his hard on. An evil smile came on her face as she rubbed it. Giovanni closed his eyes, enjoying the sensation before snapping them open.

Shattered Bonds

Shattered Bonds

“When?” “We see her periodically, but not like what you’re thinking. Her light is different than say the sprites, who are a warm, yellow glow. Lucero’s light is a bright white light. So, when I say we’ve seen her, we’ve seen the streak of her light as she runs through the forest.” “When’s the last time you saw her?” Tialha looks at Dominic. “Dominic saw her the night before we left to go see the trolls.”

First of all this these stories are not about rich and emlyn and all of the other stories are in other book why have you grouped them in another book. I’m very disappointed because it took me a while realize that I had already read these before and i rebought the stories again wait of money.

Fearing Fate

Fearing Fate

I watch our blood mix together and, though it is a dark crimson color, there is a purple and blue shimmer to it, the same color that glows from our wolves’ fur under the moonlight. “I Lucas Anthony Fields pledge my loyalty, my service, and my life to you, Alpha Darius Colt Barnett, and to you Alpha Luna Diamond Joy Stone.” Lucas takes the chalice and drinks from it. His hazel eyes glow a bright gold when normally, they are his wolf’s yellow. Before I can say anything, Aurelian takes the chalice.

at first I thought this was going to be the same as all the other stories. dumb main characters with a jealous girl who wants what isn't hers. I was wrong. this book was fantastic. I'm so happy I stuck it out and can't wait until the next book is finished to read.

Golden Luna

Golden Luna

Fur sprouted all over my body, my limbs lengthened and claws protruded from my paws. The rogue wolf landed on me and knocked me to the ground. I striked back with as much force as I could muster, raking my brand new claws across his face. He yowled in pain and backed off, and before he could recover, I leaped forward and landed on him, sinking my canines into his throat. He gave out a loud howl of pain, then went silent forever. I looked around frantically, but the last wolf was nowhere to be found. It seemed the howl had attracted the rest of the rogue pack, as I could hear them moving through the forest and calling on their comrade's names now.

Wolfless Luna

Wolfless Luna

My whole body tingling as if I’d been set on fire. My whole life I’d been taught that the Blood Moons were awful, barbaric, stupid slobs. However, the more I looked around, the more they just seemed like normal wolves, just going about their lives. “Oooh, they’ve got booze!” Lucy yelled over the music. “Let’s get some punch, I bet it’ll calm your nerves.” I wasn’t exactly sold on the idea—I had never drunk before except ceremonial wine—but as he shoved the cup into my hand and the scent of vodka and fruit hit my nose and I stared into the red solo cup, I just shrugged and slammed it.

Cursed Luna

Cursed Luna

Everybody. Anger licked at the borders of my control as my chest constricted. "You want me to set you and the people who attempted to overthrow me free." The same individuals that spilled blood among my group. With narrowed eyes, he spat, "And you're asking me to save your Luna." "If you're intelligent, you'll see that we're the only ones who can get you close enough to accomplish it." Lucien, Ronan, and Kieran were brothers once. In my dungeon, spirits are now chained.

Luna Lilith

Luna Lilith

Now he wants to torture me. He trailed kisses up my chest, across my collar bone, to my neck, where he kissed and sucked. Keeping his one hand on my wrists, he ran his other hand along my body and curves, his fingers aiming for their destination. His index finger found my clit, rubbing gently in circles. I cried out as he touched me, trying to pull my hands away so I could touch him. He laughed softly as he leaned over my ear. "What did I say, Lilith? No touching allowed."

Second Chance Luna

Second Chance Luna

They all believe that we will be, and they already respect me and treat me as their Luna. Even though I’ve been here for a few days and seen Lucy many times, I still haven’t really gotten to know her. She’s a little older looking, maybe around 50-something, and she has dark blonde hair pulled up into a high bun on the top of her head and a few grey streaks showing from the underneath layers. Her eyes are a beautiful amber color that I’ve never seen on a person before, but they almost glow like the embers of a fire as it’s dying.

This story is a fun and refreshing take on the werewolf genre. The writing and the character development are on point! Anja is a very talented writer and I can’t wait to devour whatever she writes next.

As the author states, the beginning is slow (nothing wrong with that!), but things build. I found the book to be an enjoyable and fairly quick read. It flows nicely into the second book without leaving you hanging. ... ... ... ...

Lucifer's Redemption

Lucifer's Redemption

Uriel continued to sing the theme song from the human television show, Loki rolling on the bed with his arms on his stomach, laughing. Sighing, I pinched my nose with my thumb and index finger. Her little bounce and dance had me staring at her far too hard as her skirt swished around. Chuckling, I sat in the chair that was typically covered in clothes and sighed at the situation. “Why Lurch though?” Loki grinned. “What makes you think of Lurch when you look at Lucifer?” Uriel stuck out her hip, putting her hand on it. Her finger tapped her lips, something she liked to do. They were lush and shiny, the pink gloss she wore highlighted that best feature.

Great story, I’m a fan of mythology and this novel has an unique and interesting way of combining folk tales, pagan and Christian beliefs. I loved the story and the outlines of every character and it’s way of redemption/salvation.
