Taking me by surprise, that her tattoo was freaking glowing in the dark It glowed just like the color of her hair, violet, like her name. It bathe her face with some ethereal glow. “Do…do you want to see it?” “Only if you want to show it to me,” I say, my voice quiet. “I do.” She pulls her fingers out of mine and turns around. Chloe lifts her shirt, slowly revealing her back to me. There, covering her entire back, is a watercolor tattoo of a black bird in mid-flight. Its body is curved in a “c” shape, its wings spread overhead. The background is filled with splashes of color: teal, green, and purple. And the words “Take these broken wings and learn to fly” are inked between the bird’s wings.

Right there, above her navel is the mark. I take in the black and white flowers tattooed over her right shoulder. The delicate leaves end right beneath her key bone and it seems to climb behind her shoulder too. A black lily climbs its way up the side of her left hip. The same lily in white is wrapped around yhe the black one snaking down it.

I mused, popping a piece of bread in my mouth. “You, a tattoo? Good girl Sophia with permanent ink, I can’t picture it..” He teased me and I couldn’t help but smile. “I resent that statement.” I scoffed, throwing a hand over my heart in mock offence. Jasper’s smile widened, “What would you get?” He leaned back in his seat with his arms crossed over his chest. “The elements; air, fire, earth and water and a crescent moon with a shadow.” The image had been playing in my head for a while.

“She … can … stop … time.” Caius’s brows rose higher and higher with each word. “She can stop time.” Knight slapped his phone down. On the screen was an internet search on various types of flowers. “Did you know there’s a type of chrysanthemum called chrysanthemum Anastasia?” I set the letter down and took another sip of whiskey. There wasn’t nearly enough to make me inebriated, but it did help take the edge off.

I bite my lip as I take in his bare chest, the tattoos on him look like they were inked by a god. Each of his existing tattoos are flawless, the one that catches my attention every time is the crown tattoo, I have never seen any like it. The crown has a flame where the biggest stone on it should be placed and it burns brightly in my vision everytime I see it, as if it were a 4D tattoo. I always feel like I have seen it somewhere before, like I know what it represents and I have the clean sheet to the history of the tattoo on my fingertips but it slips away everytime. My second favourite is his sleeve tattoo, it is a tribute to his sisters.

He undid the zipper of my dress and before I knew it, I was left in just my underwear and my heels. Elianna gently placed the flowers on the bedside and casually played with them, saying, "Where did these flowers bring bad luck?" Her fingers landed on the petals of the white rose, "This is a white rose, symbolizing respect. Mr. Kensington risked his own safety to save my life, and I respect him. As for this white chrysanthemum, it grows in the soil but can bloom such pure white flowers. Its language of flowers is purity."
