Even though her stomach was big from the pregnancy, the suit still fitted her perfectly well. She would have worn her normal long and big gowns, but because she was going to be attending a meeting with the board members, she needed to look professional. Just then Hannah’s assistant rushed towards Hannah and collected her bag from her. “Welcome ma’am Ella“ Her PA, Chelsea greeted with her head bowed and Hannah smiled at her. Everybody in Mackenzie’s company knows her as Cinderella Mackenzie. Instead of calling her Cinderella, they call her Ella which is short for Cinderella.

My head thunked hard and I saw stars. Everything went crazy. Someone grabbed the Queen Mother. Someone grabbed me. Lace hung from my dress in a long strip, showing the soft pink satin underneath. It felt like I was more exposed than if I were naked. My pale pink high heeled shoe sat on the bottom step looking like Cinderella had left it there for the prince to find.

He pointed to the screen. I glanced at it. A giant headline jumped out at me. [The Innocent Cinderella Is Not What She Seems: Secret Trysts Revealed! Monday, Wednesday, and Friday With Him—And Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday With…] I scratched my head. It looked like the kind of trashy gossip article you'd find in sketchy tabloids. Some random scandal, probably. Then I scrolled down. The first photo was a close-up of my face, dark circles and all, looking like something straight out of a horror movie.

The sensation of thinking couldn’t even make me remember my name. Then my eyes caught sight of ‘Jenna Brooks’. Yes, I’m Jenna. My eyes traced the line to see my role. ‘Cinderella.’ What the actual fuck? How can I be Cinderella?

"Isn't all this like Cinderella? You are Cinderella, disappearing at midnight and I'm your Prince." Midnight shook his head biting down a chuckle. "Cinderella my ass."

"Why don't you just tell me your problem with her?" "Ugh! Problem is a big word. She's just a speck of dust. She's too small but irritating for the eyes. So don't you worry about me, I'm absolutely okey with her," I paused and quaffed a glass of milk. I hope he can smell my sarcasm. "And I don't understand why she's called Cindy? She told me it was a shortcut for Cinderella, a princess in distress but she looks more like a camel than a damsel. I exclaimed, nearly bursting with rage and disbelief. She just rolled her eyes. "But the word Cinderella is included in the name." I took a deep breath to calm my heart. It took all my self control not to slap her with all my TWC knowledge. I had to remind myself that she wasn't a hater. She just didn't know.

I let him admire it. I had decided to have fun even if it is for one night only. "What's your name beautiful one?" He asked me. My stomach flipped over in excitement and for some reason, I felt my core tighten, but I didn't look away. I stared right back at him and smiled sweetly. "I am Cinderella... Ella for short..." I said. He seemed to be testing my name on his tongue as he tried it over and over. "Ella," he finally blurted in a hoarse voice.

“I don’t want you to go.” “Even I don’t want to… but I have to.” When she leans back, her smile is there but her eyes...her eyes are already halfway gone, as if she’s bracing herself for the leaving. “My name might be Aurora, but think of me as Cinderella.” It’s supposed to be a joke.
