"Where the hell did you get that scarf from?" He roared, There we go again. "I-I- got this from a friend." I stuttered, I stopped to face him as I was midway through the stairs trying to go to my room without him noticing me, but guess what? Mission escape failed. "From a friend? What friend huh? since when do you have friends, you worthless piece of shit?" He shouted making me flinch at his tone. His face and eyes were bloodshot, he was reeking of alcohol and he was angry. I started shaking in fear knowing I was doomed and there is no one to save me from his wrath.

“We really haven't.” “We should remedy that,” Freddie said, nudging my arm with a grin. I raised a brow. “What, like right now?” “No time like the present.” He leaned back against the railing like this had been his spot all night. “Cassie Monroe. The girl who broadcasts like a pro and takes cherry slushie showers like a champ.” I narrowed my eyes. “You mean the slushie you schemed?” He held up both hands, mock-innocent. “Allegedly.”

Freddie lifted his cup and sipped from his wine. “Hey… won’t you have some wine too? Trust me, it tastes very nice,” Freddie said to her, and she shook her head. “I prefer juice, Uncle.” “Juice? C’mon, Amelia, you are twenty not twelve. Try new things, okay?” He said, and she giggled, bouncing her head. “Freddie Cooper!” They heard the vibrant voice of a man that looked the same age as Freddie. “Charles Parker!” Freddie responded in excitement.

Somehow, Freddy wasn’t that angry, he laughed quietly, it wasn’t a joyous laugh, from the look in his eyes, it was pure evil laughter. “You’re really a strong one for being conscious after receiving Hatake’s nab, it was meant to take you out instantly, but I’m happy you’re still conscious to hear me,” Freddy started, he took out another marijuana from his inner jacket pocket and lighted it up before he continued.

A branch snapped somewhere to his right, and he whipped around, his gun already in his hands. “Take it easy,” a familiar voice said. Freddy stepped out from between the trees, his hands raised in surrender. He wore a black leather jacket and jeans. On his feet, he had on a pair of heavy biker boots, and on his head, he wore a black beanie. Other than his pale complexion, he blended in with the surrounding darkness. “You should be more careful,” Jack said, holstering his weapon. “I could have shot you.” Freddy laughed. “I’ve been trailing you for miles. I could have shot you.”

well, I’m not quite sure what, she just said it was important. “Do you need your refreshments refilled?” A young man came around to Cassius’ side of the table with a bright cheeky smile. “Um maybe just a little more for me please.” I say as he pours some more champagne into my glass. “What do you think she needs to speak to us about?” Cassius asks when the guy walks away from the table. “That’s a good question, but I think the both of you know the answer.” A voice spoke up from behind us and our heads turned to find Queen Fara walking towards us, the click of her heels sounding loudly against the stone walk way.

I place my hands on his shoulders from behind, steering him along. Freddie’s been my under-the-book doctor for years. More than that—he’s family. The kind I chose. “Jesus, Cain,” he mutters. “You could’ve called someone else. I was literally on a mission you sent me on.” “I only trust you, Freddie,” I reply with a grin, throwing him a wink and ruffling his hair like we’re still teenagers instead of criminals. He swats my hand away. “You’re hurt. Don’t move like that, man.”

Freddie sent out another hoot of laughter. “Dignity? Boy, what man wouldn’t love to have all the pretty ladies practically throw themselves at his feet?” Freddie exclaimed between laughter and James allowed his disgust to show. None of those women really were interested in him but his pretty boy face, as Freddie put it, or his bad ass reputation.
