he noted. ‎She said nothing. ‎Didn’t move. ‎Didn’t cry. ‎His lips curved faintly. ‎“Smart girl.” ‎For a brief moment, they simply looked at each other. ‎Then he reached into his pocket. ‎Pulled something out. ‎A card. ‎He flicked it lightly. ‎It landed at her feet. ‎Blackjack. ‎“Run,” he said casually. ‎And she did. ‎This time, she didn’t stop. ‎She ran into the darkness.

Back to Claim My Life

I need to talk to you about something important. I didn't hesitate to change out of my casual wear and leave. However, a black van pulled to a stop before me when I approached the entrance of the cafe. Amelie wound down the window and shot a sinister smirk at me. I tried to run, but pain shot up my neck as soon as I turned my back on her. My vision went black, and I collapsed. When I came to, I found myself tied up and in a boat.

There was a bedside table next to her with a glass of water and a bucket next to the bed. "Hello," her voice came out in a cracked whisper. "Hello," she said even louder. "Is anyone there!? Can anyone hear me!? Please. I need help!" she said as she started to cry. This was real, and she had no memory of how this happened. How long had she been here now. Did she wake up prior to this and do the same thing? She looked down at her ankle, which burned the most. It was raw, and it looked like burnt flesh all around. She felt the metal around her ankle, and it burned to the touch. She was being captive with silver. Is that what was making her so weak?

The buttons were located on top of the device, each labeled with a number. "So, you press this button to activate the device, and when the timer runs out, the device will automatically shut off, right?" I asked, remembering what I had previously heard on this from Na Ri. "Yes, and if you keep pressing the button once every thirty seconds, the device will stay active, so it won't run out of battery," Minseok explained, taking the device and holding it up to my wrist. He pressed the number 1 button on the side. A small LED light on the device lit, indicating that the device was now activated.

Light & Darkness: Book 1

Light & Darkness: Book 1

For now, she didn't even want to wonder what would happen if aunt Margareth finds out about her feelings. Selene stretched first, then slowly dragged herself off the bed, her eyes immediately fixed on the Book of Magic that was lying down on the desk, the one she had gotten from aunt Meredith yesterday. Selene took it gently in her hands and sat on the edge of the bed, setting the bulky volume on her lap, and flipped through the book several times. Afer the fourth time she stopped at a page that showed a portrait of a man with ebony, half-length hair, in a long black coat... The face itself seemed familiar at once, but when Selene saw his eyes - dark and captivating like two black holes, she

Black Card

Lucas turned toward his family and smiled proudly. “Everyone… please meet my firstborn son, COO Park DelValle.” The moment Lucas introduced him, Park calmly rose from his seat. Instantly, blinding camera flashes flooded the entire hall while video cameras aggressively rolled from every direction. Whispers intensified everywhere. Park gave a formal bow toward the audience, his expression serious and composed—the unmistakable DelValle demeanor that seemed deeply embedded in every member of the family. The flashes continued raining against him as though the reporters feared missing even a single second of the historic revelation.

The Way of the Dragon

“Yes sir!” the men replied. Once more, Zephyr laid his eyes on the books, his gaze rested on one of them. The book was covered in a layer of dust and was made of bamboo. It looked unique. “Thunderfoot?” Zephyr muttered as he opened the book, reading its contents. A wave of excitement washed over him. He excitedly flipped through the pages, carefully memorizing the technique’s intricate steps.

Enjoying the book tremendously, the characters names and even the tone of the author changed in the last 1/3 of the book was a bit confusing but was able to adjust to the changes the plot is definitely engaging and keeps you pushing to see how it all plays out for Zepher but it seem to abruptly?

When my shift ended, I found myself walking toward the corner table where Kael sat, his laptop closed now, a book in his hands. I stopped short when I saw the cover. ‘Knot We Cannot Untie.’ That was the book he was holding. I can't believe that Kael would be reading one of Linda Lively’s books. “You read… this?” I said, the surprise evidently in my voice. Kael looked up, one brow raised. “Why? You think I only read racing magazines and bank statements?” I gave a small laugh. “Chill bro. It’s just… not what I was expecting ”

The story line is good, but the grammatical errors are far too distracting. This is a great first rough draft as it pulls you in. It beckons the reader to continue on with a sense of curiosity. I do have to put it down multiple times in order to break myself away from the frustration with errors.
