"I love hitting robots. They crunch nice. And 'The Iron Citadel'? Sounds tanky." Ren read the lore text aloud.

"The loop has eighteen layers, Ivy. You just reached the third. Don't look for me. I'm already behind you."

I reached up, grabbed the clock's wooden frame, and ripped it off the wall with a sharp yank, snapping the mounting screws, which clattered onto the floor. CRACK! The mahogany box burst open upon impacting the metal table. In the rear cavity of the clock's frame, taped with black electrical tape to the gear mechanism, rested a small circular aluminum device with a fine three-inch wire antenna and a live data-transmission microchip.

And though his state of surprise had faded, he was still very much interested in what he was seeing. “And this,” Cronos pointed at the clock in his chest before taking a small pause. “Well, you know what this is, don’t you?” Cronos smirked and Mane nodded his head. The grey clock that reeked of time and ticked several seconds into minutes and minutes into seconds was one that Mane had never seen before. Yet he didn’t need to be told what it was. “The Clock of Eternity,” Mane croaked, his voice patchy and broken like a man who had known no food nor wine for decades.

"The artifact is over there. Fantasy Clock... I guess that artifact was such a great item." Soheila looked towards the other part of the Ruwal Mountain. She read about the Fantasy Clock in the artifacts books. The Fantasy Clock can be used one time every 5,000 years, and it's been 5,000 years ever since it was used by someone. The artifact can give you the power to control time for one time. By obtaining this, you'll receive protection from the Fantasy Clock. It was heard that the last one who used this brought back a whole clan that was crashed by an unknown sect. The clan was now named Kronos Clan. Soheila glanced at the Kronos Clan members on the ground while fighting with the other clans

Tick. I climbed onto the wobbly chair, unhooked it from the nail in the wall, flipped it over. There were two small screws holding the back in place. I dug my nails under it until the plastic cracked. I pulled out a sharp piece of metal and kept it in my grip like a knife, tucking it under the waistband of my jeans just as I heard the door click open. I hid the clock behind the wobbly chair and sat back on my chair and placed my hands behind my back so they won't see I was free. Shit.

And from within came another whisper: “The game begins.” The walls trembled, and a sound rang through the silence—a deep, dragging tick. On the opposite wall, a large clock appeared. Its hands were long, sharp, and black. It ticked once more, sending a rattling sound through their bones. Camela breathes hitch. “What…what happens when it strikes?” she asked. The double’s voice purred again. “When the clock makes one full turn, one of you will disappear…unless the bride obeys.”

“That’s the thing. You won’t have to teach me anything. The clock’s already ticking.” He flicked his chin toward his cuffed wrist, and for a second I thought he meant to show off the timepiece: something Swiss that believed in timeless value. The right-hand guard stripped it and passed it to Elky with two fingers like it was contagious. The face wasn’t ticking—it was counting down. 04:59:27. I felt the numbers in the back of my teeth. “Dead-switch,” Andros said cheerfully.

“Perhaps we could pick something simple but elegant.” Lily’s attention was drawn to a small, handcrafted clock displayed nearby. Its wooden frame was intricately carved, and the delicate hands ticked quietly against a cream-colored face. She ran her fingers lightly over the smooth surface. “What about this?” she asked, holding it up for Mrs. Thompson to see. “It’s simple but timeless.” Mrs. Thompson leaned closer, inspecting the clock. “Oh, that’s lovely,” she said. “They’ll appreciate something so unique.
