Close Combat Mage Novels & Stories

“I’m so happy for them. To lose their first child and then to get twins on the next go. They are going to have their hands full! One baby is a handful so can you imagine two? Double diapers, double feedings.” “Double crying... Jo, I know you can do it!” I said as we chuckled together. “I think I want Arthur to help Bart take care of her. Valerie can help me with Alexander.” “Nathan is going to work on getting three or four of the higher intermediate Mages to Advanced this week. Mazifik has an interesting system- Instead of employing soldiers, you have Mages. They double as guards and normal sentry. Talk about cost cutting!” Conor exclaimed, as he pulled me over to the bed. “Now where were we

One dodged his attack but the unlucky other met his demise. Three down. Since the Mages know how to use Magic attack, Brett kept running side by side. With close distance, the mages will have the hard time to aim for him. Because the moment they raise their hands, they will lose their necks. Brett couldn’t use his claws because he couldn’t shift. But he will make sure that these Mages will still regret attacking him and putting spells on him. "I admit that you guys are pretty good at blocking my strength!" Brett shouted with a chuckle as he lifted his feet on air. "But the result is still the same!"

Of course this caused him to suffer more wounds than before but he willingly accepted these and continued to dash forward. "Tch." The lean man clicked his tongue as his hold on his sword tightened. He couldn't dodge backwards anymore because he was already at the edge of their designated battle ground. With no other choice, he could only rush towards the incoming Noah. "Since long distance attacks don't work, I'll just resort to close combat." He was an Assault type Battlesoul master after all, he was also well versed in close combat. He figured his fast attacking speed would be able to defeat the 'dwarf'. Noah couldn't have been any happier as he watched his enemy choose close combat. Verti

Once this was confirmed, he began to deliberate on his next move. ‘Maybe I should try—‘ Before he could conclude his line of thought, a blur made its way towards him. It was the male warrior. He had closed the distance within a second while the female Mage had begun casting a Spell. ‘Chanting, eh? I guess she doesn’t have the [Magic Application] Skill. Must be rarer than I thought.’ [Magic Application] allowed Spells to retain their full power even without the use of Chants. Lucielle had it. Esme had it. Rey had it as well.

“ARGH!” The unknown mage didn’t want to talk but knew he was outmatched, and he was afraid to die in pain. He considered sending Andrew on a goose chase but realized it wouldn’t buy him much time and that it would only make things worse for him. Using his elemental magic, Andrew slowly began to constrict his airways while warming up his saliva.

In minutes, Zack had only succeeded to parry a few of her blows. The rest landed like drumsticks would land on a drum’s batter head and Zack echoed a groan at each stroke. “Where did she learn to fight like that?” I shared a look with Xavier and he shrugged. Warriors were not that fast. Mages were, and her speed was as fast as a mage’s. She crouched, striking at Zack's abdomen and spun around, a roundhouse kick anchoring on Zack's jaw. Zack staggered, droplets of blood escaping his briefly opened mouth.

Beta Chancy growls at his men, as he struggles to regain his footing, blood and gore rolling down his shoulders as he moves his head, his eyes white and blind as the spell reanimates him and struggles to keep itself going within the aura of my new form, which seems to feed not only off the natural energy of the world around us, but from every device and stored spell within the room–including those that make him work. “KILL THEM ALL!” Chancy growls, not seeing that his men are scattering, most of them dead and dying at the hands of the gammas that were only a moment ago prone beneath their blades. “KILL THEM…” With a sickening pop, his screams stop and he falls to the ground again, this time

When you stood with an alpha who chose ambition over basic decency. The second wave hit me two hundred yards into the territory. These weren't just warriors. These were specialists. Magic users casting spells from protected positions. Archers with silver arrows aimed from rooftops. Rogues hired as mercenaries, all of them desperate and dangerous in the way only those with nothing to lose could be. The first spell hit me, purple witch-fire designed to burn through supernatural defenses. It splashed against my Ghost Wolf power and evaporated, my silver light consuming the dark magic like it was nothing.

Although he was not good at all types of martial arts, he still could defend himself against an ultimate expert for a while. So, he had an idea, magic was a long-range battle technique. So, he was beaten down to the ground in a few moments.
