- Clary's POV - I met his gaze. His eyes were unreadable, like storm clouds rolling over a frozen lake. He looked ruthless, yet I sensed a tenderness buried somewhere deep within, a strange mixture of fire and ice. Combined. Fused. Two opposing forces locked inside him, neither one winning. I couldn’t tell which would surface first, the burning flame or the merciless cold. Then, to my utter surprise, he reached out.

Taehyung's POV The moment Clara's body went slack in my arms, a primal roar tore from my throat, not of command but of pure, unadulterated anguish. Her blood—hot, metallic, soaking through my shirt and mingling with my own wounds—felt like acid on my skin, burning away the carefully constructed facade I'd built around us. It’s overwhelming for a second, but then I hear someone yelling my name. Or well, yelling my title. “Gamma Kael! Look who finally crawled out of Moonshard!” Cliff Ron, the owner of this place, squeezes past a group of drunk mercenaries. He’s tall, scar across his cheek, hair tied back like he’s in the middle of a fight he hasn’t finished. He grins at me before pulling me into a rough hug, the kind that almost knocks the air out of me. I grunt because the hug brushes the injured side of my body, and even though I try not to show it, the pain shoots so sharply I have to hold myself steady. Cliff doesn’t notice. Or maybe he pretends not to. Hard to tell with him.

*** “Where am I?” Arth looked around him. He was standing in an endless meadow, the fresh wind brushing his face with the grass tickling underneath his feet. “Am I … dead?” He raised his head, seeing the fluffy clouds floating amidst the ocean sky. The sunlight gave him warmth, kissing his entire body, gentle and peaceful. Arth turned around, only to find a very familiar girl standing ahead. “Alice?” he said, furrowing his brows. She wore a beautiful white dress, with her long hair flailing with the wind. Her hands were on her back as she seemed to be looking somewhere far ahead. She looked so perfect in Arth’s eyes.

I picked it up from the kitchen island and answered the call. "Clarry "Come open your door." She said in a low sad voice and I quickly rushed to the door and opened it. "Cl..Clarry, why are you crying? What's wrong with you?" I asked in worry and she just came in without replying.

“If this is about you being the alpha male and stronger, I don’t want to hear it.” “Flora,” with a gentle voice, he cupped my cheeks in his hand. “I’m sorry for offending you, but that doesn’t change facts, Flora. I am stronger and I am a fighter, meant for battle. You are a healer, a nurturer. The chances of you getting out alive in tricky situations are very slim. And then what do you expect to happen to me? You think I can continue to live on without you?” Shocked at his confession, I stared at him unblinking. The way Clay explained his emotions, they were similar to mine. But I dared not assume that he returned my feelings…that he loved me too. I couldn’t handle a heartbreak right now.
