TAKE A CHANCE ON ME

TAKE A CHANCE ON ME

"I thought that you won’t be joining us." “I saw this wonderful day and I said to myself that would be a crying shame to waste it. So, I went to ‘Silver Spur Ranch’, took my horse, and here I am.” Shawn looked inquisitively at the full plates and crystal glasses. “Champagne?” he asked sarcastically, looking harshly at Isabelle, but she avoided his gaze. "No, it's just white wine," Billy replied. "If you’re hungry, we have an exquisite chicken salad that Rosa has prepared for us."

I really enjoyed this book. Your writing is really emotional & riveting. You write about difficult topics such as violence, domestic trauma, emotional trauma, human frailties with sensitivity & emotional caring, which is very tough to do well. I appreciate that you approach these matters in yr work.

Another captivating book by this author. Have the Kleenex box beside you because you will be crying throughout. This book takes you through so many different emotions. I admire Isabelle’s strength. Looking forward to reading the sequel.

The CEO's Chance

The CEO's Chance

In food terms, I’m a dollar menu McDonald's burger and he’s a filet mignon from a five-star restaurant. “Will you do it?” he asked almost pleading. I opened my mouth to say no. There was no way I was going to give in. I was going to stop all of this. That way I will never have to see him again. Yet just like the definition of a traitor, what came out of my mouth instead was “Yes.” You are such an idiot Cassie.

The General Craves Some Meat

The General Craves Some Meat

It had no customer in it, only the worker who walked towards her to welcome the two. Cheng Min chose to sit at the corner of the room as she looked through the window. She could see the common folks struggling to carry their load. Also, the children play with kites at a close distance from their parents. They looked cheerful and were happy playing with other children of their age. "The city is still lively." Tian Li informed as she carried some dumplings on a silver platter. She set it down and then sat opposite her master. "You think so too. It was the lantern festival a few days ago. I think the festive mood is still here, I wish I had lit a lantern that day instead of fighting with that j

The Second Marriage Chance [English]

The Second Marriage Chance [English]

Sarah Philip graciously ushered me into the gathering, where all eyes immediately fixed upon me. Yet, my attention was only in one direction—the buffet! A passing waiter showcased a plate adorned with buttered lobster, its vibrant hue and alluring scent tantalizing my senses. My mouth watered at the mere thought of savoring it. "Hmm… I want that!" I exclaimed, tugging at Philip's sleeve like an eager child, pointing towards the dish. He regarded me with a knowing gaze.

A Second Chance

A Second Chance

My teacher asked softly. “Yes,” I sprang up immediately. I looked at the sky. A wide shade of bright blue and uneven patches of white clouds. It was still early and it felt like hours ago since my father was taken. My eyes soon lost sight of the clouds and the school ceilings took over. I moved my gaze to the floor and proceeded to walk. My leg stopped. The panel on a random gate was clinking and forcing its balance at the corner of my eye. There was shuffling behind me. There were rummages of footwork; repeated pulsing of sound with an equal rhythm. signs of someone running.

This made them even more protective of her. When we arrived at the restaurant in Clinton, which was the one town over, which is only a little bit bigger than Chance. Most people from Chance don’t come to Clinton because there was this long standing sports rivalry between the schools. This sounds immature and ridiculous but that’s just how small towns work.

muttered Abby softly. As soon as possible, Abby took the large burger and opened the paper that wrapped it. and a lot more, it all had to do with their mostly unpredictable mood. I dragged myself to go on with the chores, there was no sign of Mother or Avery. But it didn't mean much anyway, she was probably just spending the rest of the day with some females of the pack. She did tend to keep company with a lot of them and would always return drunk after all. That thought reminded me of something else. Something strange was happening, the weather outside had begun changing and I had noticed something peculiar about it. The clouds were grey but not in the typical grey color you'd expect during a stormy season. Instead, it appeared that they seemed to be moving in different directions than normal, it

The movement was small, almost easy to miss, but it pulled at me. The rain had stopped completely, and thin sunlight spilled over the rooftops. Still, the air carried a weight, as if the clouds hadn’t truly gone. Something was out there. And I had the feeling it wouldn’t wait long to find us.
