I muttered while I tapped the side of the plastic monitor. A bizarre glitch tore through the code on my screen, and the green text turned a harsh warning red. The system kicked me out of the server, and a massive firewall slammed shut across my connection port. The encrypted laptop screen went totally black, and a strange error message blinked in the center of the dark monitor. I typed a new command to force a reboot, but the keyboard did not respond to my fingers at all. The system locked me out permanently, and the violent glitch made absolutely no sense for a basic traffic camera.

It required a six-digit code, and I had no idea what it was. But still I tried. I tried his adopted birthday first. Nothing. My birthday. Still nothing. My jaw tightened as I keyed in the date we started dating. Wrong again. “Seriously?” I muttered, frustration creeping in. What was the damn code? His general birthdays? I was just about to give up when a thought suddenly crossed my mind. It was a date I didn’t want to remember, but somehow I ended up remembering it anyway. My fingers hesitated at first, but I forced them to move across the screen, punching in the numbers.

I stared. "No." Helena looked at me. "What?"
