When Pain Runs Bone-Deep

When Pain Runs Bone-Deep

"Mrs. Simpson, I beg you. Please tell me where Summer is buried. I'll do anything you ask me." "Absolutely not," Mom said mercilessly. Andrew had tried to get my skeleton back to the neurosurgical department, but unfortunately, since it was a specified donation, it couldn't be changed. I didn't particularly care—it was a donation, so it didn't matter where it was placed. Yves did not think so. He disinfected the spot that he had prepared for my skeleton at least eight times. It was weird; I'd never thought that I would be able to see my entire skeleton.

The Boy Who Fought With Bones

The Boy Who Fought With Bones

In any other situation, he would have felt it to be disrespectful to take away the bones but here, the owner of the bones himself was instructing him to take one away. Raider gulped audibly and stood up to hesitantly walk closer to the bone formation. Closest to him were the legs and feet bones of the skeleton, arranged in a crisscross fashion. Raider slowly bent down and reached out to pick up the left tibia. His entire arm was trembling. As his fingers wrapped around the bone, he could feel a warmth pulsing out of it, as if it possessed a life of its own. It felt smooth and emanated a feeling of durability and power.

Rejected by the Alpha, Claimed by the Crown

Rejected by the Alpha, Claimed by the Crown

"I'll toss this grubby little trinket in there for you. Think of it as your future Luna taking out the trash." "As for tonight—" She crouched, bringing her face level with mine. "You stay right here. On your knees. You don't move until I say so." She straightened, turned, and walked out. Her attendants fell in behind her without a word. I stayed on my knees. The stone floor was so cold it burned. Blood trickled from the corner of my mouth. The next morning, I ran. The Valley of Bones was a deep gorge carved into the far side of the mountain. The rock walls on both sides were streaked and stained—old blood, dried black. The air down there felt thick, stagnant, like the valley itself was holdi

The Hidden Chip in the Martyr's Bones

The Hidden Chip in the Martyr's Bones

Kip said, kissing her hair. My brother waved a dismissive hand. "Get it out of here. Burn it. Don't delay the construction on Jen's lab." They ordered my remains hauled away like refuse, destined for the incinerator. A hatred more corrosive than the virus that once ate my bones burned through my soul. I was powerless, a ghost forced to follow them to a bar. The neon sign stabbed my vision, a fresh wound. Sylvia's Bar. My own handwriting, my love poured into the design. Now, it read Jen's Bar.

The Return of the War Legate

The Return of the War Legate

Yet, no matter how furious he became, the relentless force continued to strike at his skeletal frame. Clang! Clang! Clang! The sound of impacts echoed continuously, and the elder’s bones shimmered with a faint, silvery light. Adrian observed, slightly surprised. “I didn’t expect your bones to be this ancient, with such a peculiar quality. Truly impressive.”

Ice Cold - Part Two: Winter's Bane

Ice Cold - Part Two: Winter's Bane

January 2005 It was a cold January night. The winter wind was blowing throughout the valley village of Ravenna. The nine-year-old Rowan was lying in her bed in her family’s cottage. The window by her bed was closed tight, but she could still feel the freezing wind creeping in and gnawing at her beneath her blankets. This hardly bothered her, however, as she had lived through many winters just like this one in her young life. In fact, Rowan often found the cold to be rather soothing, as it helped her to drift off to sleep, but she was having trouble closing her eyes tonight.

One More Hot Contract with the Shadow Alpha

One More Hot Contract with the Shadow Alpha

The River of Bones cuts through the landscape like a jagged black ribbon, its dark waters swollen by the spring melt, rushing violently over the limestone deposits that give it its name. I walk at the absolute head of the column, my bare arms exposed to the damp valley fog, the dark leather tunic fitting snugly against my ribs like a second skin. Beside me, Clyde matches my stride step for step, his massive frame radiating a heavy, rhythmic heat that acts as a fortress against the chill. The black shadow-energy bleeding from his skin pools around his heavy leather boots, leaving faint, charred outlines on the wet grass with every step he takes. Behind us, three hundred iron shields move in a

CLAIMED BY THE DEMON KING: DARK ROMANCE

CLAIMED BY THE DEMON KING: DARK ROMANCE

Not even the bone of the alpha lived to see the next day. Another rumor that made rounds across several kingdoms was that Dravon’s palace holds a chamber made entirely of ice. It was frigid enough to freeze flesh and shatter bones. Enemies that were captured are left naked and alone. The cold seeped into their bones, their screams muffled by the frozen walls. Time loses meaning and many go mad, begging for release from the unbearable cold.

This was a good book. Some of the characters names would get mixed up and some of the chapters would be added twice, but still a good read. I hope that there is another book coming out with the same characters picking up where it left off.
