THREE Saturday “Here he comes,” Kevin Ellison muttered as we browsed over a table filled with used comic books at the Commons Trailer Park Yard Sale. I glanced up and, sure enough, there was Jake Burns peddling his clunky old bike down the fairway toward us. I snorted and returned my attention to an issue of Rom: Space Knight. “Peachy.” “Y’know, he really seems to dig you,” whispered Gary McNamara from the other side of the table, where he was perusing an issue of Thor. “I mean really. Like you’re best buds or something.”

He asks. To no one’s surprise, Maddie stands and approaches the presenter’s platform. She has her computer bag with her, and I know she’ll pull out her laptop to connect with our big screen system. Since we had time before we met up with Robert, and Beth we decided to go to the comic book store Chastity told me about. As soon as we walked in the door a huge smile spread across my face. Chastity hadn’t been wrong about the amount of Marvel items they had. I heard Chastity giggle, and I looked at her questioningly. “You should see your face right now. You look like a pup in a candy store.” Chastity said between her giggles. “I guess I kind of am.” I responded with a chuckle. “Go look around.”

I wondered why people would dedicate a whole lot of space to resources to create a comically huge shopping mall like the one I was in. As soon as we came in, we were swamped by attendants who offered to show us around. They probably knew Madison and had definitely seen Dante outside. His influence was felt here as they all but fawned over us. He was their Alpha, after all. I literally put my foot down, refusing to move an inch until Madison got rid of the attendants.
