I echoed, my eyes trailing over the spines. “This is mostly factual books about my kingdom, about religion, about wars. The big library is mostly fictional books, all in different versions. Anything you could want to read, you would find in there.” Then I noticed it, noticed the fire in his eyes burning a little hotter, the crookedness of his smile turning a little more prudent. “Perhaps you can recommend something?” I asked, even though it wasn’t so much a question and more a request instead. “I’m sure I can be of assistance,” he mused, the heady tone creating something tingling between us. Something that flowed so naturally, like we were already drawn to each other.

It brought me the comfort I needed. I weaved through the shelves, my fingers tracing the spines of various books in the magic and mythology section. Honestly I was surprised that the Royal Library was bigger than the public library. Who read those books? And then— I collided into something. No, someone. A book called 'Summoners' got my attention. As my fingers reached the book, a person's hand reached the book from my right side.

Huge is an understatement of how the library looks. “You're cute.” Billie says, looking at me softly. I ignore her and run to the first section of books. They are so pretty laid out that I don't want to stain them with my touch. I've found my spot here. “Where can I find books on wolves?” “Come with me,” Billie leads us to another section at the end of the library. I wonder why it's this far. “Humans with wolves are called werewolves and werewolves are blessed with a second half which are called soulmates,” she plucks out different books and places them on the small coffee table.

I straightened awkwardly, suddenly aware of Lauren, who was several feet away looking like she had witnessed her own funeral. “I….” I cleared my throat. “I came for the books about omegas.” Osiris repeated with a frown. “Books?” The libertarian told me, There are some books about omega bonds in the east wing’s library.” “Oh!” Osiris nodded. Then, without another word, he lifted the tote bag hanging from his wrist. “Are you talking about these books, Kate?” I grabbed the bag and nearly gasped while checking the books inside it. ‘Fated Bonds and Omega Instincts.’

Later that afternon, Aiden hadsuggested they spend time at the library. "You mentioned wanting to understand the bond better," he said. "We have books. Research. Histories of mate bonds. You could read. Learn. Understand what's happening to you." So she was in the library. Surrounded by books about supernatural bonds. Mate connections. The biology and magic of fated pairs. I feel my whole body relax like it only does when she's close. "You don't need to be embarrassed about reading dirty books. I've been doing it for years." she says and my head pops up and I stare at her to determine how serious she is. But I don't sense even hint of joking. How interesting. "Really? What kind of books do you like?" I ask and watch with fascination as an adorable blush creeps up her face. "Um... mostly small town romance. Single dad, friends to lovers, next door neighbors, things like that." she says a little shyly making me chuckle.

Trinity’s POV The royal library was a world of its own—tall, arched ceilings cloaked in silent shadows, the faint scent of aged parchment and polished mahogany drifting through the air like a comforting embrace. It was much colder here than in my room, and yet I felt oddly more alive. Surrounded by books with titles like Mystics of the Moon, The Forgotten Bloodlines, and Lunar Heritage: Gifts from the Goddess. Honestly it didn't feel like I was still trapped in a palace, rather in a world of paradise.

There were so many books there, and it would probably take a lot of time. "Hey... here it is..." Serenity instantly muttered as she read a book title. "It's a book about The Moon Stone Pack. I hope, there's information I need inside this book right now." Serenity immediately picked up the book, then walked over to the sofa inside the library, carrying the book now. Serenity sat on the sofa, then began to open the book, and read the contents there.

“How can you stand that? It sounds so shallow.” Her friend shrugged. “It is what it is. I couldn’t have the lifestyle I have if I weren’t his personal companion.” For the first time, shadows crept over her face, giving the other woman a hollow look that held traces of fear. “I won’t go back to the life I had before. Call it shallow or materialistic, but I have everything I need or want.” “But it costs your body.” Cleo shrugged. “It’s not a terrible price to pay, Madison. You just wait until tomorrow morning, after you’ve been his companion for the night. I think you’ll realize being his sometime-lover is one of those perks I mentioned, not a hardship.”
