The Abandoned Luna's Return
The stars—the real, distant, un-simulated stars—were visible again.
"Is it... over?" Sarah’s voice came from nearby.
I sat up. Sarah and Marcus were standing a few yards away, looking battered but alive. The golden dome was gone, and the shifters in the square were starting to sit up, looking around in confusion.
"The Hive is disconnected," Silas said, pushing himself up. He looked at the dead Reaper ships hanging in the sky like hollow shells. "But they aren't gone, Elara. We just turned off their remote. They’re still up there. And there are millions more in the Deep Space."
