Aaron whispers under his breath, “That doesn’t sound like a compliment.” The silver-eyed watcher lifts her head carefully. “The convergence cannot be undone now.” The darkness above pulses once. Heavy. Interested. “No,” the voice agrees slowly.

I can feel myself blacking out as black spots cloud my vision. Just as Psych is about to grab a hold of me I hear what sounds like bikes pulling up. Psych runs over to Jesse, who is bleeding from her head, and helps her up. I catch a glimpse of Melissa lying unconscious on the ground near the kitchen and when I look back over to Psych he and Jesse are peaking out of the holes on the boarded-up windows. "Shit, the Warriors are fucking here. How the fuck did they know where we were?" Psych says hysterically.

“Don’t you dare accept this.” But the Trial wasn’t waiting for their agreement. A column of merged light and shadow erupted beneath them—lifting them higher, suspending them above the fractured chamber as if the entire realm were positioning them for judgment. Below them, three symbols materialized on the floor: A burning sun. A consuming void. And between them— a circle split cleanly in two. The Trial’s voice wove through them like cold wind. The Convergence cannot belong to two souls. Only one may hold it.

Nora looked up when I stepped into the room. “Stormhollow verified,” she said flatly. “They’re amassing at the peripheral conduits,” I finished for her. Elias let out a slow breath. “Which coincides with the disturbances we’ve been picking up,” he said quietly, voice tight with focus. The web of glowing lines across the table flickered softly beneath his touch. “They are bolstering their defenses at three convergence points,” he went on. “Hold those conduits steady, and they can funnel updraft into the relic beneath Obscura.”
