There was a pause. “With what, exactly?”
“Cooking,” I admitted, my pride taking a hit.
The silence on his end lasted a little too long.
“You’re cooking?” he finally said, his voice filled with disbelief.
“For Fiona,” I said sharply. “And before you say anything, I don’t want jokes. Just help me figure this out.”
“Understood, Alpha,” he said, though I could hear the amusement in his voice.
With Raymond’s guidance, I managed to scramble the eggs without burning them. He talked me through making pancakes, though flipping them proved to be a challenge. One landed on the floor, and another folded in half, but I eventually got a few that looked decent.
