My house smelled like garlic, baked cheese, and a small rebellion. Hailey’s POV I went to the kitchen and started preparing the food again. Ron brought all the raw items once again and Robert already left, I guess. To meet his girlfriend, I suppose. “Thank you,” I said to Ron as he brought me the items of the list, I gave him, and trust me here, it was a long list. I started cooking and made sure I don’t burn anything this time. It is night and I am still cooking. Like for three hours straight and still there are 12-- no 13 dishes left.

As I'm about to make my way out of my study I hear commotion outside in the hallway, I speedily exit the study to find Gabriel dragging Hannah out of her room, "Whats going on" I ask an exasperated Gabriel. "I asked her to cook me something, she refused to leave her room so I found the spare key and decided to force her to cook us a meal". Hannah is trying hard not to show her feelings, but I can she the shock and anger brewing inside her. She wasn't aware of Gabriels stay and certainly wasn't expecting him to force her out of her room. "I will make us both something to eat, leave her".

Hannah was really good at cooking fish. Whether it was braised, steamed, or pan-fried, everything she made was delicious.

Tony set down the megaphone and all of his focus went to sipping at his drink. Molly’s own focus went over to Hannah, who was still standing on the stage and seemed to be rehearsing her lines for the segment. Molly smiled to herself, feeling so proud of her best friend in that moment. She still remembered the first time Hannah baked anything, her parents not letting her near the oven until she was thirteen. The next morning, breakfast was laid out on the table as usual. There was a bowl of grits, a link of savory breakfast sausage, and two buttermilk biscuits. Beside my sticky note lay an identical one.
