The Billionaire Behind My Divorce

The Billionaire Behind My Divorce

Not enough tampering to malfunction immediately, just one internal pressure valve would be loosened just enough to destabilize after repeated use. Then the ceramic cup rack. One cup near the centre would already contain a near-invisible stress fracture along the handle, weakened further with thermal shock spray. It would hold together long enough to feel safe in someone’s grip before splitting violently once filled with high heat. But that wasn’t enough alone. And Theodore hated unreliable things. So there would be a second mechanism. The desk lamp had a heavy brass base. One supporting joint would be loosened carefully until the structure leaned under the shifted weight distribution.

Rejected by the Alpha, Claimed by the Beast

Rejected by the Alpha, Claimed by the Beast

I drove the glass shard into the soft seal of the hazmat suit’s boot. The man let out a muffled cry as the suit hissed, losing pressure. He stumbled, his rod hitting the side of a nearby vat. **CRACK.** The glass of the vat didn't shatter, but the electrical surge from the rod scrambled the electronics. The screen on the side of that tank flickered. **[ASSET-4022: STATUS - DISCONNECTED]** Inside the tank, an old woman’s eyes snapped open. She began to thrash, her silent screams forming bubbles in the gel.

Healing with the monster

Healing with the monster

"If we don't dampen the chassis right now, the tension on the mainspring will snap the carriage-return cord! We won't even make it to the central district before the machine bricks itself!" I didn't answer with words, but the momentum in my chest was moving faster than the asphalt rushing past beneath the tail-board. I pulled out my spiral notebook from my vest pocket, the pages ragged and stained with a thick crust of black hydraulic graphite grease. I pressed the broken fragment of the charcoal stick into the linen fiber, the thick letters tearing across the page with an aggressive, jagged momentum: Use the spare jute bags from the rice crates, Julian. Wedge them under the base-plate to

Rewinding My Reaper Boyfriend

Rewinding My Reaper Boyfriend

The floor was iron grating, allowing them to see all the way down the hollow throat of the tower. "Look at this," Cale said, crouching at the base of the lens. He touched the brass gears. "The lubrication has evaporated. The metal has fused. It is a dead heart." "Can we fix it?" "We need penetrating oil. And force." Cale took a can of WD-40 from his tool belt. He sprayed the gears generously. The smell of chemical oil filled the small glass room, masking the scent of the sea. He stood up and grabbed the manual turning crank. It was a heavy iron wheel.

Sand Castle

The stunt June and I pulled through earlier must have damaged the core engine inside my left airkicks. —uh-oh! Looks like Hale is now out of airkicks! The Rearguard is in trouble and the Golden Crows are down one player! I tried to regain my balance while in the air, which is really difficult considering only one of my airkicks is stable and the other pair is badly damaged. Still, I tried my best to get as close as possible to the action. I'm not about to sit out this one important game of my life. —and she recovers! Hale makes a desperate race to the action with her remaining airkicks power—

Rejected by my team, Claimed by the Rival

Rejected by my team, Claimed by the Rival

I rasped, shoving Carter’s massive hands away from my shoulder pads. "Jeremiah, stay down." Talia slid onto her knees beside me, a medical jump bag swinging from her shoulder. "You hit the boards at thirty miles an hour. Let me check your neck." "I’m fine." Gritting my teeth, I forced myself onto one knee. Looking down, the problem glared back at me. The molded plastic chassis of my custom Bauer skate was completely intact. The steel blade itself was gone. It had sheared clean off, leaving a jagged, dangerous edge of metal flush against the plastic holder.

“I just kept looking down, waiting for blood to be pouring out of my hand. I was at dinner with my parents.” Her eyes widened. “I’m sorry…I didn’t…” This time her more genuine sorry made me smile. “You can’t know when and where I am to avoid hurting yourself. I’m pretty sure you didn’t mean to do it.” She nodded slowly. “The…the oil pressure has a tendency to drop significantly in the DB4’s and it’s because the aluminum blocks heated up and they just expand and the clearance for the bearings is too much…and…” Squeezing her face together, Skylar stopped ranting for a moment.

I was debating on giving it 4 stars because there is a lot of spelling errors. There is also a dead point but around chapter 70 it picks up speed fast. It definitely keeps you hooked with all the twists and turns. Great story line. Abrupt ending but I hope a sequel has started

I LOVED Sky’s story! Such an incredible read!!! I wish we heard where her friends/bandmates ended up but still. Praying for a second to see what happens with Heath and how Ethan (and hopefully Justin) deal with all that will be thrown at them!

His Scarred Beauty

His Scarred Beauty

She just nods at me, looking at the water around her. While I rush towards my car and search for anything that could help. Nothing! Fuc**** not even a single thing! Opening the boot of the car,I look around to only find jeck and spare tires. Tyre...yes it may do. But for how long,I don't know. It's pressure and water density play and I don't have enough time to do physics here. I was going to close the boot when my eyes stop at a car washing pump in the corner. At the pipe attached to it specifically.

Gosh! My Silly Husband Is a Rich Boss

Gosh! My Silly Husband Is a Rich Boss

After Marcus fed Lewis water, the phone rang. He took his phone out and glanced at it, then looked at Maxwell with a slight change in his expression. "The repair shop has given me an update. The brakes were indeed tampered with, and the technique was very clever. One wouldn’t feel it when they first drive the car. Hitting the brakes after acceleration would cause the brakes to slowly fail after several repetitions." "If we hadn't been followed and rear-ended in the beginning and I hadn't accelerated to get rid of them, maybe the brakes wouldn't have failed so quickly?" Lewis asked after hearing this.

Mr. CEO, Your Miracle Doctor Ex-Wife is Unreachable

Mr. CEO, Your Miracle Doctor Ex-Wife is Unreachable

"Every pneumatic system has an emergency purge valve in case of a power failure, usually hidden behind a maintenance plate." Dante grimaced, fighting through the phantom agony of the Project Ouroboros necrosis that still echoed in his nerve endings. He reached into his soaked jacket, his fingers brushing the heavy titanium wrench he had managed to retain through the chaotic ascent. "Show me where," he grunted, his breath pluming in the rapidly cooling air. The water crested their chests, forcing them to tread water in the confined space as the buoyancy lifted their boots off the grated floor.
