Keeping an eye on the teenagers that are doing their survival training is just as entertaining as I had thought it would be. The two that procrastinated when they first arrived are the first two to notice the desperate pangs of hunger. I think that they thought that their parents would sneak them food but when nobody shows up, they begin to worry about what they will eat.

Meager shares now are better than full shares for a little bit and then nothing. If the food runs out, this place won't last long. The survivors and soldiers won't be able to keep up their stamina, and then we'll be overrun in a heartbeat. I can only imagine how much destruction will happen if just one creature manages to make its way into the fortified school. Just thinking about the chaos, the bloodshed, and the destruction makes me sick to my stomach, and I can feel my appetite failing. But this is the end of the world, and I can't afford to not eat...just in case.

That dazed, innocent look? Yeah, I was living for it. Thank god this game tracked fear, not heart rate. No way anyone could stay chill looking at that face. Always watching. I looked at the tray. Watery broth, a chunk of bread gone stale at the edges. Steam rose in thin curls, filling the air with the faint scent of onion. It’s about being alive tomorrow to make another choice. I reached for the bowl. The metal was warm against my fingers. Slowly, I ate. TRIGGER WARNING I woke up completely famished. My mind was urging me to get up and eat. I crawled carefully over Jamie and Sebastian who were in bed with me. I stepped silently over the other four to make my way down to the kitchen. I got down there and started making a huge pot of noodles for spaghetti. I started cooking ground venison before grabbing more uncooked venison out of the refrigerator to snack on while everything else cooked. Once the meat was done, I drained it as I leaned against the counter, continuing to eat the raw venison.
