My ears rung as I laid on the floor, trying to recover from the explosion before I sat up and jumped to my feet, looking to where the limo had been and saw nothing but pieces of metal and flames and I staggered, "no!" The gun Alan was holding fell to the floor. Alan was not to be outdone. He punched Laird in the stomach. They struggled against the side of the car. Laird slammed Alan against the car until the car shook. Again and again, they slammed each other's bodies into the side of the car. I could only scream in alarm when I saw Laird hitting Alan. But things turned around again. Alan lunged Laird into the wall. He slammed Laird's body into the wall with all his weight. Laird groaned as his stomach was crushed.

The impact was deafening, the sound of crumpling metal reverberating through the stillness of the surrounding forest. Andrea's car spun out of control, veering off the road and hurtling towards a towering oak tree. Time seemed to slow down as the vehicle crashed into the thick trunk, the sound of breaking glass and bending metal filling the air. "Oh!" I slammed my hand down on the mattress like a wrestler in the ring who was begging for mercy or, at the very least, asking for some time to catch my breath. You know, someone who was tapping out. The truth is I wanted neither of those things. I might need them but want is a whole different ballgame.
