I finally found a blank space and started to draw, taking my mind off everything including the man sitting across me. He opens the piece of paper and smiles when he sees a drawing of two stick figures, one being small and one being big, the small one being Kai and the big one being Vixen. There's a heart in the middle and it's colored in and outside the lines and- awww, she wrote her name at the bottom. "It's beautiful, baby. Thank you." Vixen says, kissing her cheek.

"It's missing both ears." I watch as he picks up the stick this time and makes on the sand, two medium sized 'c's on both sides of the drawing. We both tilt our heads to the left at the same time and stare at the drawing on the sand. One of the eyes are way bigger than the other and the nose seems to be falling out of proportion, the shape of the head looks like that of an amoeba while the ears he just drew isn't fully connected to the face. "I think it's phenomenal," He says.

Shelves filled with stuffed animals, puzzles stacked neatly in a corner, art supplies spread across a small table. Tamera ran over to show him her drawings. “I made this yesterday!” Lance stared at the colorful paper. It was a drawing of two stick figures holding hands. One tall. One small. Above them she had drawn a crooked sun and written their names. Lance swallowed. “That’s… really good.” Tamera smiled proudly. Behind him, Ragnar stepped quietly into the room. Lance turned and looked at him. For a moment neither of them spoke. Then Lance glanced back at the toys, the drawings, the warm house around them.

“Mommy! Daddy!” We turned. He stood there in his little pajamas, holding a half-drawn sketchbook. His innocent grin warmed our hearts. Damon crouched down and lifted Kael into his arms. “What are you drawing, champ?” Kael giggled. “A family. Look!” He showed us the paper—three stick figures holding hands, with a small one in the middle that looked like a baby. “That’s Mommy, that’s you, and that’s me. And that’s the baby!”

Coco hesitated, wondering if she should just leave. Then, she grabbed her bag and took out a notepad and a pen. Coco drew a cartoon character on the paper and handed it to Lucas. "Here, this is for you. I hope you'll feel better." Lucas lowered his gaze to the paper she had handed to him. Coco had drawn a simple cartoon character of him. With a few simple strokes, she had captured his facial features precisely. The eyes bore a significant resemblance to his eyes, allowing others to recognize him in the drawing.

But they all grabbed a marker pen and started drawing anywhere they could reach. They all seemed to know what they were drawing. When they finished drawing their individual pictures, they went to a larger blank wall. Where Max drew a big circle, Eden then drew a slightly smaller circle inside of it. Before Jaxon drew some lines connecting the circles. It made it look a little like a clock. But Eden added some wavy lines at the bottom of it. When they finished, they went to a sofa, curled up with Evie and cried. I looked at their pictures. Max had drawn a man’s shaver but with small lightening bolts coming off it, Jaxon had drawn a bucket and Eden had drawn a knife.
