“He’s always busy now.” I swallowed the lump in my throat. “I’m sorry, Aurora. That must have felt really sad.” She nodded, then reached into her backpack and pulled out a folded piece of paper. “I made this for you. At home last night.” I unfolded it carefully. It was a crayon drawing of stick figures: a tall man with dark hair, a little girl with pigtails, and....my stomach dropped, another woman with brown hair standing beside them, holding the little girl’s hand. A bright sun smiled overhead, and a clumsy wolf shape sat in the corner.

“Hey buddy! How are you?” He bit his lip, suddenly shy. "I'll miss you, Sister! Come back soon.” Before I could reply, he turned to Xeros and handed him something– more like, pushed something into his hand. Before we could ask anything, he darted away. Xeros carefully unfolded the paper, and I found myself peeking over his arm in curiosity. But never could have prepared me for what I found: it was a drawing , with me, Xeros and Adam. Adam had drawn himself smiling in the center, clutching both our hands as we ran through the rain and storms together.

There was a tall, blocky man with a jagged golden crown, a woman wearing an oversized silver tiara, a small blob representing a little boy, a giant black dog with six legs, a glowing stick figure surrounded by yellow loops, and a final girl drawn with aggressively angry V-shaped eyebrows. Kael let out a long, dry sigh. "Let me guess. The one with the furious eyebrows is your long-lost aunt?"

Since I didn't know what she looked like I decided to make her faceless , only shading to provide her a proper structure . Kayla slaps her hand against her mouth in order to stifle her laughter . Her face turns slightly red from restricting herself .

Elder Collins flipped through the binder before taking out a piece of paper and handing one to everyone on the couch. As soon as I grabbed it, I saw a black-and-white drawing of a wolf with a woman standing by its side with its hand on its back with the background resembling the skies. The title said True Soulmates, True Mates with some text underneath that I scanned over to to start reading about this whole corny soulmate talk.

He shrugged, feigning nonchalance. When I opened it, a drawing of a wolf welcomed me. He had a sad little face, with a somewhat fat body and an enormous head. It was a chibi version of a wolf, with a small bubble at the side that read a big sorry. I laughed helplessly, drawing the attention of the teacher and all the students. We were always together. The place, the date, or the time did not matter. We were soul mates, after all, even if he didn't know it.

Ace chimed in, his eyes shining with pride. I couldn't help but smile at their infectious energy, feeling a warmth spread through my heart. Pushing aside my worries for a moment, I shifted my focus to them, eager to see their creations. "That's wonderful, sweeties! Let me see." I beckoned them closer, and they eagerly rushed over, holding their drawings into my hands. Luna's drawing shown a colorful garden scene, complete with flowers, butterflies, and a shining sun, while Ace's featured a tall tree laden with apples, surrounded by smiling stick-figure people.

Mercedes' POV “Can I see?” I asked Carter who shrieked and hud his paper behind his back. “Carter what's wrong? You've been drawing for hours, can I see?” I asked again but the little boy shook his head. “Why not?” I inquired. “I'm not yet done,” he replied. “Carter never shows me his drawings and he laughs at mine.” Penelope pouted as she rose her paper and showed me her drawing. There were four stickmen, two bigger ones on either side while two smaller ones stood in the middle smiling as they held their hands together.
