He presented the box to me with a small smile. “What is this?” I whispered, staring in shock at the miniature stuffed toy like it was made of something poisonous. It was a half penguin half bear. When I was twelve, I’d had two stuffed toys, a penguin and a bear and I’d named them Mr Cuddles and Captain Fisher. But a freak accident had cost me Mr Cuddles. I was inconsolable for weeks. It certainly is futuristic, as if coming from those sci-fi movies.

It didn’t feel like human skin at all, but strangely enough, I felt a sense of security from this touch. “Wua?” The voice changed its tone.
