Arc "Welcome, everyone! Glad you're all cozy and settled in." A warm voice called out, and its owner came into view from the corner, carrying a tray of freshly baked cupcakes. The aroma of sweet vanilla and chocolate wafted through the air, tantalizing to a person's taste buds. "For a host, you're fashionably late as always, Angel!" Kaitlyn teased, a playful grin spreading across her face. Angel gave an apologetic look, his eyes sparkling with amusement. "Cupcakes can be a bit finicky, but I hope they're worth the wait! I wanted to make sure they were perfect for our little gathering."

Only Hawke is my true rival in that regard. I wait for things to cool down for about another hour or so. River isn’t happy about most of the food being devoured, including his favorite chips and all the beef jerky. He is forced to settle for the shit the others wouldn’t touch, the vegetables mostly that Hawke always brings along, and he eats a salted cucumber glumly. Father takes pity on the nephew who he helped raised and tosses a bag of deer jerky to Riv he had hidden in the glove compartment. The jerky came from home, it is a pack specialty, and no one makes it like Oak Skymane. Now that is cooking I actually miss from Shadow Ridge, as the elder beta has never made anything I didn’t like.

"What are you reading today Michael? Maybe you could recommend something for me.” With a twinkle in his eyes, Michael held up the book, its cover adorned with intricate designs. "These are actually not mine, I came to return some books on behalf of my father, Cedric. He has an extensive collection on unlocking hidden potential in werewolves." Sera frowned. “Cedric? Uncle Cedric?.” “Yea you met?” “Yes, he’s lovely, very sweet and kind….. like you.” She confessed with a blush. Michael beamed at her. “You think I’m sweet?”

Leo gave his mother a kiss on the cheek and thanked her for that save. Ella and Harper had figured out Lucinda was the boss lady, so they clambered over to her with Xavier in tow, asking for cake. Lucinda couldn’t think of a reason why not, so she instructed the caterers to start slicing it up. It was a beautiful cake, tiered layers of white and fondant tree bark, piped with tons of colorful icing flowers cascading down the layers, on a bed of moss fondant at the base. Sugary butterflies in different colors were perched daintily on several of the flowers. It was almost too beautiful to eat, and Amber hated that first cut into such a beautiful work of art.

"I don't suppose you'd want to ride with me." Predictably she shook her head. "I might have considered it, but I have that order for tomorrow. Three dozen unicorn cupcakes." She wrapped an arm around his waist. "But next time…" Cole nodded. "Next time." He pulled her to himself and pressed a kiss to her temple. "Alright, pretty girl, you stay here and make cupcakes. You might make a few extras. You know, for quality control." Jenny laughed. "Are you going to test them again?"

No wonder he could confidently say that Keith would not mind the reason for him being late. That sneaky bastard… Damn fox... Really annoying! Hmph! And now, the man had just come home with an innocent face greeting him cheerfully. The man's right hand was carrying a shopping bag made of cardboard with the logo stamped on his favourite vegan cake shop which was located not far from where they lived––Lambda's Research Cake––which was famous for their cafe theme concept which took a laboratory theme as their main concept.

“You… what?” Aria gave a nervous little grin, fingers brushing Elara’s jaw before slipping away to point at the box. “Cupcakes. Grape ones. Mini - sized. Gluten - free. Mostly. I remembered about your diet, so…” Elara didn’t even glance at the box. She crushed their mouths together again, swallowing the rest of Aria’s words.

As always, his attention to detail is something we have in common. “This looks too small for both,” I add with a giggle, anticipation pushing me to flip up the lid on the cardboard box that’s barely big enough to fit a mug, or maybe a corsage. I laugh out loud when I spy the chocolate cupcake covered in pastel-coloured sugar flowers. A generous-sized cake for one from my favourite bakery. I would recognise one of their cakes anywhere. “Smart arse.” It’s touching and gives me a warm gooey feeling.

Yet, what I beheld within caused my jaw to drop in astonishment as if it had detached from my face and plummeted to the floor below. The melanin with short pixie hair squealed in excitement. I gave her a wink and she gasped in shock. “Please do well to introduce yourself ladies” I said with a huge smile. “I'm Esther Faux, I'm 20 years old and an upcoming model!" The melanin said quickly. She obviously wanted me to like her. Unfortunately, she didn't interest me much. “My name is Annabelle King and I'm a fan of your model work, very elegant” The other said with a bowed head, she seemed kinda shy and quiet.
