JENNA’S POV Alex stood before us, his formal ceremonial attire highlighting his powerful frame. The traditional blindfold that usually covered his sightless eyes was absent. His gaze, once empty, now held a startling clarity as he looked directly at me. "Jenna, you are breathtaking today." "You can see me?" I whispered in disbelief. "Release her, Carrick. What exactly are you attempting?" Alex's words came simultaneously with mine. Carrick looked between us in shocked confusion.

I figured he might be calling to explain himself or apologize. A mocking smile tugged at my lips as I answered, but instead of an apology, Cedric's voice came through harshly.
