He slipped off his jacket, tossed it on the chair, then turned to me. “Come take a bath.” I turned to face him. “Alec…” “It’s just a bath,” he said with a casual shrug. “Last time we said that, you nearly marked me in the tub.” “This time,” he said, stepping closer, “I just want to hold you in warm water. That’s all.” I hesitated. Every time we got close, something ugly followed. It was becoming a pattern. “I’m starting to think we’re cursed,” I muttered.

The boy had no idea where the wetness came from because nowhere up around where he stood was wet. The boy felt a sudden sadness for the poor animal, so he held out his right hand, palm down, and suddenly, his arm glowed with a strange purple color. The purple color that had started to glow around his arm seemed to wiggle around it as if it were alive in its own way. Slowly, the wolf began to rise and out of the pit, with the boy switching his hand’s position as the wolf floated out of the pit. The boy laid him softly on the ground just a few feet away from the opening with a wave of his hand.

I can't let her come in-between my senses of reasoning. I paced to the study room and picked up the book I have on my table. I have not been able to get to another page. I am just at one page ever since. The curse is something I wouldn't love anyone to know about because I don't know how to break it. The curse is a difficult thing and now that she has known, the bond from our fate would act as a catalyst to put us together. I couldn't really concentrate on the book. I will open a page, read small. Before I know it, I am already thinking heavily again.

Then the doctor ran in as we stepped back and Xavier growled as he was male, unmated and unmarked as far as we could tell. "I came as quickly as I could, alpha, what's going on?" he asks, looking at the unconscious girl in front of me. A gasp of fear and shock escapes him and he backs away. "You have to kick her out!! I cannot treat her! She's the Cursed Rogue!! She matches the description perfectly! Alpha, she cannot-" I snapped. "SILENCE!" Xavier roared. It was rare for our wolves to actually speak on their own like that without their human counterpart, but in this instance, I was right along with him. The doctor instantly closed his mouth and bowed his head in submission.

How could he betray his mate? The aura around Serena blazed a deep red as she said the words, “I, The Witch of Artemia curse you; the moment you consummate your relationship with your mate; she will die.” Then Serena stormed out of the tent waving her wand behind her. Alaric stood there, frozen like a statue. She had shattered his life and filled it with misery and despair with just one flick of her wand.

'Cursed wolf.' Everywhere went deafening silent the moment someone in the crowd had uttered that statement and Tristan had halted on his track. Tristan clenched his fist with his eyes closed, trying to control the rage he felt. The people worried as they looked amongst themselves, trying to fish out who had muttered that word to avoid being killed for they knew Tristan wrath and he didn't waste time in getting rid of anyone who dared him. Cursed from birth, Tristan had to suffer the hereditary curse passed down to him because of the sins of his father.

My voice cracked on the words because I was certain that he did love me. Confusion marred her perfect features. “Is he sick?” Because truly, that would be the only other problem. “He's cursed.” I blurted out. “Cursed?” She sounded disbelieving. “Yes, cursed.” I spent the next few minutes explaining Brian's curse, his age, the death of his prior mates, and the future event of my possible death.

“So it has begun.” Kaelen frowned. “What has begun?” The King opened his eyes again. “The curse.” The word put everyone in the room on alert. Lyra shifted slightly, and Rowan crossed his arms. Kaelen’s voice hardened. “What curse?” Darius took a slow breath. “Centuries ago… our ancestors slaughtered a powerful coven of witches.” Kaelen had heard that story before; it was taught in royal history, and it happened in the forest they visited that night.
