“Joseph, I found Mom’s grave and brought her the flowers she loved. I also greeted Dad so he knows I’m your wife. For their sake, how about we get treatment and not get a divorce?”
She talked nonstop beside me, yet I stayed silent.
Her excitement faded when Derek appeared. He barged into my house, looked around with disdain, and fixed his gaze on Jaime.
His eyes lit up, and he looked pitiful. “Jaime, why did you block me? You disappeared for so long. I couldn’t find you anywhere. Did Joseph say something to you? Do you know how worried I was?”
He glanced at me, his eyes turning cold. “Joseph, don’t drag Jaime into your mother’s illness. She’s just a woman…”
