“Enjoy the party, Kayla.” Before I could respond a voice cut through the air “Ladies and Gentlemen” The room quieted, every eye focused on the man standing on the podium dressed in a red and black royal attire. “Tonight,” Kain’s voice rang out, steady and controlled, “we mark a new era. A time where lies and deception no longer have a place in our pack.” A murmur of agreement swept through the crowd, a ripple of approval that made my stomach turn. “Our former King,” Kain continued, his voice smooth like poison, “my brother.”

"The King summons the entire royal family to the throne room. Immediately." Liliana and I locked eyes. Her crazed expression intensified. "It must be about the coronation!" In the throne room, the Night King sat on his obsidian throne, his face darker than a storm cloud. Damien stood beside him, pale and drawn, a thick bandage wrapped around his wrist. Queen Victoria and several High Elders were present. The air was thick with tension. "Damien," the King's voice was a low rumble of thunder. "The undead tide on the border was supposed to be crushed within a month. Why is it still raging?"

“And because he would kill me the moment he saw me.” Her blood chilled. “But why—” “Because I am king of the realm he once ruled,” Erevan said quietly. “And because I protect what he would have regarded as his.” Aria’s pulse stuttered. “Me,” she whispered. Erevan didn’t answer. He didn’t need to. No sooner had the words left my lips than the doors to the hall were pushed opened and in came none other than Rihero Von Palestine, the Dragon King. He was dressed in all black from head to toe, with a black suite that had a golden dragon embroidered on the left side. He wore black pants and a black shirt underneath and his midnight black hair hung open to his hips. His dark eyes were completely devoid of light as he came to a stand in front of me and I couldn’t help but notice how we contrasted each other. Light and Darkness.
