Then, he left, slamming the door behind him without so much as to take another look at her. Daisy fell onto the floor with a look of disbelief and streaks of tears on her face. After a while, she rose and wiped away her tears. Standing in front of the mirror, she forced an eerie smile. Daisy said, "Right! Those bitches mean nothing! I'll be the wife of the mayor soon. His secretary and some of his business partners were there too. Midway through their discussion, Daisy's phone rang. She looked at the screen of the phone and discovered that the number calling her was a strange number. Daisy picked the call up and waited for the caller to speak first. "Is my wife with you?" The voice sounded very deep and cold. Who was this? His wife? Daisy subconsciously looked at Sarah and Sarah stared back at her, wondering who was calling her and why Daisy was looking at her. Daisy thought briefly and discovered that this voice, although she hadn't heard it too often, sounded like Mr. Wilson's, plus Sarah was here too.

“This way.” I followed her back into my new office. I’m scanning the badge at the door when someone says my name like it leaves a bad taste. “Dana Sosa?” I turn. Tall, blonde, sharp blazer, arms crossed. It takes me two seconds to place her. “Daisy.” She blinks… mockingly, like she expects me to forget. “You remember me.” “Hard not to.” Daisy started at the Operation department three years ago. She is a family friend to the Tovar’s. She is the one who brings cupcakes for Mateo’s birthday and acts surprised when I show up with him. We had one blow-up at the holiday party.

And this woman, no matter how convincing, wasn’t her. Still, I didn’t confront her. Not yet. Instead, I leaned back with a smirk. “Well, I brought pastries. Almond croissants from your favorite place downtown.” Her eyes lit up. “That’s so sweet. Thank you.” I proceeded to talk about work. Daisy had taken a break from ballet since last year, mostly because of her body. But she never stopped coming to work. As a matter of fact, she always buried herself with work. Her understudy, Joan, remained in the spotlight as prima ballerina for now while Daisy enjoyed her leave.

**FIVE YEARS LATER** "Come on, Daisy. We are going to be late!" Hayley called out to her child, making her way to her room and lingering by the doorway when she saw her. Daisy was standing in front of her dressing mirror, struggling to fix her bow. "I'm coming, Mommy. I just need to fix this!" she murmured. Hayley watched her, her heart melting at her cuteness. Her little angel. She approached Daisy and knelt to her level, embracing her and admiring her.
