Damaged A Novels & Stories

Victoriå "I'm sorry that I wasn't at school that day, Rhee." Damien said suddenly, already looking at me when I looked over at him and I shook my head instantly. "If you were there you could've gotten hurt, so count that as a blessing." I assured him and he just shook his head. "You could've gotten hurt." He replied and I smiled. "And that wouldn't be your fault." I said and he sighed. "I-" "Come on." I told him, standing and reaching for his hands.

We rolled on the ground, over and over, dragged through the dirt. Damien tightened his arms, holding me protectively, shielding my head and my body with his arms and his own. Finally, after what felt like forever of falling and tumbling, we skidded to a stop. Damien was against the hard ground. He was covered in cuts and bruises but they already seemed to be healing. Thank the Gods for an Alpha’s strong healing factor. “Damien,” I breathed. His eyes were wild as he searched me over. “Are you hurt?” He tried to sit up, but he winced instead.

I asked, my voice shaking at the end. "Definitely. Roman is a fighter. He survived a ghastly car accident when he was young without a single scratch. I know he'll surely come out of this healthy." Damien attempted to reassure me. "But he didn't get shot, did he?" I whispered and inhaled again. Damien just sighed. "I saw everything happen, Damien. I watched that evil wench shoot him thrice in the chest, and I couldn't do anything. I'm so fucking useless." I shook my head as tears blurred my vision.

“She told me… she told me about my dad. How I was working so hard to pay for his medical bills. She said… she said you only loved damaged women. That they make you feel powerful. That I’m just a broken thing you want to fix.” The words were a physical punch to Damian. His face went white, a profound and horrifying rage crossing his features. The muscles in his neck and jaw stood out, stark against his pale skin. He was silent for a long moment, the air thick with his fury, before he pulled out his phone.

“There is no need to be such a tightarse.” I narrowed my eyes, locking gazes with his injured leg. “I could say the same for your legs. You shouldn't be moving.” "That's okay. I was just working out a little. Can't let the bed stay warm all day," Damien grunted softly as he moved his body again. He groaned painfully. He instinctively reached for his injured arm, squeezing it lightly. He met my unwavering gaze before clearing his throat. "I should be going back to… my room."

My frown deepened as I studied him from head to toe. “Look at you. You’re hurt,” I said softly, unable to mask the worry in my voice. “Can we do something to heal your wounds?” Damien shrugged, his expression unreadable. “I don’t know,” he admitted, his voice quieter now. “But I’m sure these wounds will pass.” As if to emphasize his point—or perhaps contradict it—he suddenly collapsed onto the cold ground. My breath hitched as I watched his eyes flutter closed. “Damn,” he muttered, his voice barely above a whisper. “My job is getting harder now for some reason.”

Mira Three months had slipped by in a blur. Today made it exactly three months since I last saw Henry’s face on my phone screen—three months without a single call from the bastard. I’d begun to heal from the heartbreak. It had taken a toll on me in more ways than I could count, nearly breaking me mentally. I stood in front of the mirror, staring hard at my reflection. I saw a woman who was smart at everything—except when it came to making the simple, better decision to walk away from a toxic relationship. I’d been blind to lies that had been staring me right in the face.

I wake up extremely late the next day. And bump my head against the headboard, followed by a loud groan. I think that is the moment Robert stirs awake. But I am already stumbling off the bed. Sheet hooking around my ankle, and I stumble over, hands thrown forward to prevent my face from crashing against the white tiles. Left hip coming into contact with the hard floor. A sharp jolt of pain cruise through my entire left leg. Omph!

“Lighter. But also scared.” “I am scared,” I admitted. “Scared that wanting something for myself means I’m being selfish. Scared that if I let someone in they’ll see how damaged I am and leave.” Dr. Kemi was quiet for a second. “Aria, you survived Marcus. You built a company from curtains and fear. You raised a daughter who thinks paper flowers are the best gift in the world. You are not damaged. You are durable. There’s a difference. Damaged means broken beyond repair. Durable means you’ve been through fire and you’re still here. Still soft enough to feel, still strong enough to choose.”

Unspoken Truths - Chapter 35 Damian “I said I’m fine!” I snap. Pain flaring in my ribs as the doctor leans in again. I grit my teeth, already on edge. “I said I’m fine!” “You’re not fine,” he fires back, frustrated but calm. “You have three fractured ribs and a concussion. It’s barely been 24 hours, and you’ve been involved in two bomb blasts, Damian. You can’t just walk out of here like it didn’t happen.”
