Celia’s POV “Hold the headboard. Don’t let go.” My stepbrother’s voice was low and absolute. I was already on my knees in the center of his bed, naked, heart racing. The wooden headboard was cool under my palms when I reached forward and wrapped my fingers around the top rail. I was nineteen. Damian was twenty-five. Mom and his father were two floors down at a late dinner with friends. The house was ours for at least another three hours. That knowledge made every order he gave feel heavier.

I say looking around the classroom making sure to make eye contact with every student. "Why'd you leave New Dawn? Were you banished?" Sue asks and I chuckle. "Do I smell like a rogue?" I ask and she shakes her head no. "You're 17." Damian says and I nod my head yes. "Why aren't you stationed yet? Don't healers move to a new pack at the age of 16?" He asks me. Damian was so handsome right now, all I want to do is walk up to him and kiss him. Whoa.

My legs threaten to give way for the second time today. “Move and I’ll put a bullet in you” Romeo says to Damian. “Do whatever he says, Damian” I beg. I don’t want any harm to come to him. I know how these people work.

"Alright," Damian replied calmly before he went and sat on one of the black couches in the living room. Mr. Mark smiled and asked Damian, "Do you care for a drink?" "No, Father. I have other work to attend to, and I do not want to spend much time here," Damian replied, before he glanced at his left wristwatch, observing it was 2 p.m.

Ryan took a step forward instinctively, like he was ready to protect me, but the man who stepped out of the car was already smiling like we’d known each other for years. “I’m Damian Cross,” he said, offering his hand like a gentleman but holding my eyes like a wolf sizing up his prey. “I’ve been meaning to speak with you.” I frowned, my instincts prickling, but I accepted the handshake. “I’m sorry do we know each other?” “No,” he said smoothly, glancing at Ryan. “But I know Matteo Russo. And now I know you’re working directly under him which makes you very interesting to me.” Ryan stiffened beside me, but I stepped forward, brows lifting. “I’m sorry, what exactly do you want from me?”

Alicia reminded him, watching Damian's expression closely. "Anxiety? Why? This is the best news I've received in my entire 28 years of existence," Damian raised an eyebrow and smiled genuinely at her, his sincerity shaming Alicia for doubting the joy he had just displayed in front of her father. So he was 28 years old, the same age as Tobias. That was a new revelation, Alicia thought to herself. She gathered her thoughts and continued, "I'm aware that your Moon Halo Pack has many strong and intelligent Rogues, even though I've only met three of your betas. Each one of them possesses remarkable abilities. I'm certain that the rest of your pack members are equally formidable."

Maddy's brow creased, but she nodded. “Call me Damian.” I said as Maddy turned to leave. “We look forward to working with you, Damian.” She smiled before disappearing. “Missing your little fuck already?” She shook her head. “That’s sad.” Sipping her drink, she drummed her fingers against the glass. “The mighty Damian Russo has been reduced to chasing a little girl.” She added, clicking her teeth. “That little girl happens to have a hold on me. One you’d never relate to.”
