He was already there. Damon stood just inside the heavy curtain, his broad shoulders blocking the strobe-lit chaos behind him. He wasn’t in club clothes. He wore dark trousers and a simple white shirt, the sleeves rolled up to his elbows, as if he’d come straight from something far more serious. Near the ruins of the gate, leaning against a pile of rubble, was Damon. He looked terrible. His face was pale, and he was clutching his side where the Elders' shadow had touched him. But he was alive. And in his hand, he was still holding the silver remote. He was staring at us with a madness that made my blood run cold. He didn't look like a King anymore. He looked like a man who had lost everything and decided that if he couldn't have the world, no one could. "Very impressive, Kaima," Damon rasped, a thin trail of blood running from the corner of his mouth. "You found your dog. You broke the gods. You really are the perfect little hero."

But Damon just smiled, his eyes glinting with ruthlessness. "I'm afraid it's not negotiable, Mr. Kendrick," he said. "Either you agree to my terms, or we walk away." Kendrick's face paled, but he nodded, his voice barely above a whisper. "Okay, deal." Damon smiled, feeling a rush of triumph. He stood up, his eyes never leaving Kendrick's face. "Welcome to the team, Mr. Kendrick," he said, his voice dripping with sarcasm. "I'm sure we'll have a very... profitable relationship."

As I walked on as thought I hadn't said anything, I felt a hand wrap around my arm and pulled me back, pinning me to the shelves of food. “ Do you really think so...??” Damien growled as he lowered his head towards me. Just as she was about to shake off his hand, a Land Rover slowly pulled up outside the school gate and Klaus came down from the driver's seat. Finally, he wasn't wearing Damian's military coat when he got out of his car. Instead, he was wearing a black fur coat, looking casual and young. After taking off his sunglasses, he scanned through the group of people gathered by the school gate with his deep green eyes before walking toward them.

Nica had been somewhat close to Morticia during high school anyway. "What's taking Nica so long?" he asked Dimitri curtly, his gaze shifting to the room upstairs where Nica was helping Morticia get ready. "Chill, Sin," Dimitri muttered.
