Rina listened, her head cocked. Then, she began to play. Her Fork moved, and the air itself began to vibrate. She didn’t play a pretty tune. She played the Confusion, a swirling, discordant cascade of notes that went nowhere. She layered the Fear underneath it, a low, throbbing, anxious drone. Then, a single, clear, insistent note for Hunger. And weaving through it all, a fragile, but persistent, melodic line of Hope.
It was not pleasant music. It was chaotic. It was messy. It was unsettling.
