Revived From the Dead

Revived From the Dead

I shouldn't take a single penny from you. I accepted the bank card from him and embarrassed him openly by saying, "I can't believe that you're still able to pay me back even though you're now in such a difficult place." Rubbing his hands together, he lowered his head and said, "I visited our child's gravesite. I kept thinking that our child could probably reincarnate to have a better life if I made it up to you a little. I deserve to be punished." I put the bank card away and got up to leave.

I don’t like reading books that aren’t completed-this one sucked me right in after reading the 1st chapter! I’m impatiently waiting for it to be finished so I can continue reading n crying happy/sad tears bc thats just how good this story is n how well the writer pulls the reader into the story

Hook, line and sinker. I wanted to read just a paragraph and and next thing I find myself nose deep into this amazing and mysterious book. The way the author made the main character a defiant woman just tickles me in all the right places and I'm loving every chapter of it!

Too Late for Regret:My Alpha Brothers Didn’t Know I Was Already Dead

Too Late for Regret:My Alpha Brothers Didn’t Know I Was Already Dead

"Freya! Get out here!" Caleb kicked the dungeon door impatiently, shaking dust from the walls. Of course, there was no response. "Playing dead? Think that'll make us go soft?" Noah sneered, his handsome face etched with scorn. "You're getting good at these games, Freya. First, you hurt Lily, and now you're faking your own death to make us feel guilty?" The dungeon remained deathly silent. Not even the sound of breathing could be heard.

Left for Dead, My Brother Said It Was My Fault

Left for Dead, My Brother Said It Was My Fault

“Bella, please… you can’t do this to me. I was wrong. I was wrong.” I pressed my hand to his cheek, wishing—aching—for him to feel it. If only you’d admit you cared about me while I was alive. If only I could’ve heard it then. But nothing could go back to how it was. The brother who loved me was finally back—and I was too dead to ever hold him again.

To Me, My Ex Is Dead

To Me, My Ex Is Dead

Hearing those words from someone else made it sound like a story about a stranger. After enough pain, numbness set in. The memories that had once kept her awake all night no longer had the power to shake her. She gave a faint, indifferent smile. “Like you said, he’s just an ex. As far as I’m concerned, he’s as good as dead. Why would I remember him?” “As good as dead.” “Why would I remember him?” Sean stood in the shadows and heard every word. Each one cut straight through him. The March wind brushed past him, and a coldness spread through his chest.

She then looked at at him as she exclaimed, "How dare you!" "It's your surname though!" She slapped his arm and for a moment he lost control of the car but quickly recovered. "Shit..." Ashleigh breathed out as Damien chuckled nervously. "Sorry." "I swear if I died I would've killed you!" "How would you do that when you're dead?" "I'll possess you and make you commit suicide." Damien gave her a look. "Thats dark woman." "I love you too."

His cursed Luna

His cursed Luna

I step a step toward him, then I started shaking him slowly. " Lucas!" I called after him, but he didn't answer. Then I recalled him twice, trice - until he answered. I pulled him toward me as I was totally terrified that something had happened to him. Before I asked him about what's happening, he started talking by himself. " They're dead... They're all dead!" He said while I started feeling his tears on my shoulder. " They're going to be back, aren't they?" I asked him since I know that every pack member from the showers is an immortal.

That chilling line 'be quiet and don't even smile' instantly takes me back to 'The Handmaid's Tale'—specifically Aunt Lydia's brutal conditioning of the handmaids. Margaret Atwood crafted such a terrifyingly mundane cruelty in that scene. What haunts me isn't just the command itself, but how it mirrors real-world oppression tactics: stripping away autonomy through tiny, calculated gestures.

I recently rewatched the Hulu adaptation, and Ann Dowd's delivery made my skin crawl. It's wild how fiction can crystallize societal fears—like how Aunt Lydia weaponizes politeness to enforce subjugation. Makes me wonder about all the unspoken 'rules' we follow without questioning their origins.
