My grip on the phone tightened. “Bianca, are you insane? What the hell are you doing in a place like that?” My voice rose in panic. West Street had the worst reputation in the city—rampant crime, drugs, and violence. It was no place for her, especially not at this hour. She had always known better. So why had she gone there now? Before she could reply, a new voice—deep and threatening—took over the line. “Mind your own business, bitch!” A sharp cackle followed before the call abruptly disconnected.

I kept begging him. Xander sighed, “ Denver change of plans. Take us to the dragon's place!.” The driver drove away from the building. I don’t even know if I should be relieved or not. Who is the dragon? And why are you going to his place? My head is already aching so I placed my head on the side of the car. After driving for almost an hour through the busy streets of New York, we arrived in front of a building that screams “gangster club”. The entire building is covered with different scary street art. There are paintings of weapons, men killing and holding each other. How come the authorities allow this?

Damon’s POV The Griffin Marauder rolled to a stop in front of Club X, the infamous hottest, and most dangerous club in New York. It was where any, and everything went down, from drug dealing, to prostitution, to gambling. It was the heart of New York’s crime underworld, and I owned this fucking place. It was not just one of the very many businesses I owned; it was the most successful, and deadliest. I stepped out of the car, adjusting my pitch-dark suit jacket as my eyes roamed around the vicinity of the club. There were girls, and women, littered on every corner, calling out to the staggering men who passed them on their way to the entrance of the club.

She was even more stunning when she’s angry, more dangerous and it drove me crazy.

There was thick black smoke in the sky, the streets were full of emergency vehicles rushing to the site. While I was still in a daze DJ budged into my room. “They are here.” It did not take rocket science to figure out who ‘they are, the Bratva was here, this is their style, they are loud, violent, and messy. “I can tell,” I say to him, even a fool can tell that there is a different player in J City and that things are going to change. “Let’s go have breakfast in the restaurant downstairs,” DJ suggests I know that he just wants to get the feel of things outside.

I was here, in what’s considered the most dangerous city in the United States. If it weren’t for Kim, there’s no way I’d go through all this trouble, traveling so far just to fetch her damn documents. Damn her scatterbrain for always forgetting important stuff and dragging me into her personal courier service. Pulling my phone out of my bag, I dialed Kim’s number. I prayed she’d pick up quickly so that the incident that I won’t tell wouldn’t happen again like last time.
