Jasper asked. "I put it on the shelf she said to him" he murmured okay and he stood up and walked towards the shelf. "Where?! I can't find it?!" Jasper frantically searched through the shelf, moving books, papers, and other items in a haste. But there was no sign of the shredded pieces of paper. He could feel his heart racing as he tried to recall the importance of those papers. Why did he need them so urgently? What would happen if he couldn't find them?

I could hear the alarm blaring in my brain, ordering me to create a safe distance because we were in a dangerous zone, but I couldn't. I was drawn to him like a moth was drawn to flame. There was something so thrilling being in such close proximity with him. It was dangerous, feeling like I could get burned if I continued my venture but that didn't matter. Although it felt dangerous, it was so overwhelmingly good. Clouding my sense of judgement. How could something that felt so good be dangerous. If anything, it felt right and safe... But I knew better. The road to hell is paved with good intentions anyway.

Like it was just talk. “The Black Book,” I said. “Tell me about the Black Book. What is it? Where is it?” Something flickered behind the drunken fog in his eyes. Even now, even this far gone, some part of him recognized that question and didn’t like it. His brow creased. His head tilted. “The Book,” he repeated slowly. “Why do you…” He frowned, struggling to hold the thought. “Why’re you asking about that? S’dangerous. Nobody’s supposed to…”

{DANTE} Neither Francis nor Cecelia said a word about my long absence from the dinner table Friday night. *** I was coming from the upper side walking towards a bridge with a baby crying loudly, I was trying to move closer to save the baby but a deafening sound was resounding into the dark of the night, terrifyingly approaching the bridge. I moved a step, and the feminine figure also moved a step. While I was a few meters away from the baby, just like flash, she arrived some distance away from me and before I could say or do anything her lips start moving up and down, and the dryness of the baby pierced through the air. It was as if someone was lifting the baby because she was halfway in the air. The baby was descending in a fast process, before I could part open my mouth to say, "stop!"

Only then did I release the grip and let the energy die, the ground settling beneath my feet. The whispers started as they always did. Too strong. Too dangerous. Too much.

My gaze moved to Trevor "Now I need you to tell me why you said this book is dangerous " " it's not important " I can see that Trevor is avoiding the question, my eyes lower to see him clenching his fist, his eyes looking restrained like a bad memory just resurfaced. " I want to know Trevor. So please tell me " " if you try opening it and it doesn't choose you, you will die in two weeks " his gaze met mine "We were five who created the book, my four friends died but still I never got to force the book open, and that's why I was safe"

I was here, in what’s considered the most dangerous city in the United States. If it weren’t for Kim, there’s no way I’d go through all this trouble, traveling so far just to fetch her damn documents. Damn her scatterbrain for always forgetting important stuff and dragging me into her personal courier service. Pulling my phone out of my bag, I dialed Kim’s number. I prayed she’d pick up quickly so that the incident that I won’t tell wouldn’t happen again like last time.

“I stood there watching him. He was going to run a path through the floor if I don't go over there and stop him. So I walked over to him, touching his arm. He looked down at his arm, then looked up at me. “Vegas, look. I think I need to send you back home to the pack house. This is going to get real dangerous, and I don't want you getting hurt. It's bad enough that Kayla got taken; goddess knows what this motherfucker is doing to her right now.” I was stunned when he said that. What is this man thinking? Dangerous? I chuckled to myself. That's my middle name, Dangerous. He waited for me to say something. I guess me not saying anything means he thinks I agreed to go home.
