ログインChapter 3
Cheyenne's POV I was just talking to Mercury about how proud I am of our son Isaiah. He has already collected several collections. I remember the first time my husband passed the title to him. He was just too young and not ready to be the mafia king. That was when he had met Ava, who was once human like I was. But things do happen, I got stabbed. I remember that day like it was yesterday. I was still human. Mercury wanted me to come along. He was interrogating someone in a warehouse. One thing led to another. The guy went after my husband, and I got in the way and was the one who got stabbed. Mercury had to turn me into a wolf to save me. We were just too far away from the doctor, so he did what he thought was the right thing. Now we are retired from being the King and Queen of the mafia. We still go with our son from time to time, but I like what we do. I train the recruits; Mercury fights the rogues and still protects his family. Right now, I was outside with the recruits, including Taylor. I knew I was harder on her. I just wanted her to know everything and be strong when she shifts. She's a late bloomer; she was supposed to have shifted when she was sixteen. When she didn’t, we took her to the pack doctors. That's when he told us that her wolf was still asleep. Sometimes it happens to strong wolves. When she turns nineteen, her wolf will awaken, and she will shift. So, I am much harder on her. With all my kids, but she is my granddaughter. I had her run more laps, do more sit-ups, push-ups, squats, and much more. When she told me what she did last night, I could only shake my head at her. "Taylor, you know you can’t do that. You need to listen to your parents. Trust me, I know what you’re going through. You're just like your father. He had done the same thing, though he had his wolf at the time. He didn't like people threatening his father either. Once he tore the heart out of a guy just because he looked at his dad the wrong way. Your grandfather had to sit him down to explain he cannot do that. What if he was an important man? The wrong people might have come after us, and we would have been in deep trouble. We always have to be careful. Let them come after us first, and then we will do what we do—we destroy." I knew she was thinking hard about this. In the end, she understood. She didn't have a wolf right now. She could have gotten hurt if she had missed the shot; the woman could have had a gun and shot her. Then I would have had to hunt her down and rip that out apart. But I was happy that she finally understood. I was watching her spar with one of the girls. She was doing great. She was learning all the moves that she was supposed to know. She still got hit from time to time. Of course, you’re going to get hit; it happens when you train. Sometimes the other person is faster or stronger. It just makes you want to get stronger and faster; it's just the way it is in the werewolf world. Sometimes someone is stronger than you, but not smarter. You just have to outsmart them; that's all. When training was over, I told them they did a great job and to come back at the same time like today. I knew Ava wanted to speak to me. Something tells me it was about what happened last night with Taylor. This girl is just like her father mixed with a little of her mother. That's a dangerous combination. She was supposed to be at the house soon, so I hurried to shower, dry off, and got dressed. When I walked into the living room, she was there sitting on the couch with a glass of whiskey in her hand. This must be serious; she never drinks whiskey unless there is something wrong. I sat beside her, waiting to see when she will start. "Cheyenne, I don’t know if I can do this. I wait for him to come home, hoping he will be alright. Last night it was Taylor who shot someone in the head; the other time, she broke someone's neck. How the h3ll am I going to handle this? I knew what she was going through. I went through the same thing when I was just starting out to be a wolf. I wasn't sure if I could deal with being here the way Mercury was; he was very dangerous going on collections. I was scared when he would go out; I wasn’t sure if he would come back unharmed. Sometimes he was hurt, but he would heal. It still scared me. I had to be strong for her. She comes to me for advice, and sometimes I try to give her the best advice I can give. Other times, I let her work things out on her own. She has to learn on her own. 'Ava, honey, I was just like you once. I was scared; I didn't want Mercury going out either, but I knew he had to go get those collections or get that guy. Sometimes, I was even terrified. But you know what? He always came home to me. Sometimes roughed up, sometimes he wasn’t. He does this for the family, so the family will have a future. It's going to be okay, I promise. You will never get used to it, but you will learn to understand. Go with him on the next collection; that's what I did with Mercury. That's how I understood what he does and why he has to do it. Trust me, when I did, this might sound crazy, but I had a blast. I even helped sometimes. So go with him, I promise you won't regret it,' she said as she was drowning her third drink before finally putting the glass down on the table. 'You're right, Cheyenne. I need to go with him to understand all of this. It's been years now, and I haven't gone with him. I'll go with him next time when he has a collection.' 'Good, that's what you need to do. And for Taylor, I already talked to her. She knows she can't do that unless they try to hurt us first. She has to know that if she did that to the wrong person, we would be up shit creek without a paddle, and people would get hurt. So, we always need to be careful.' I hugged my daughter-in-law, then watched her leave out the front door. I knew she felt better; she wants to go on the next trip. I hope she is ready for this because sometimes things can get really dangerous. Let's just hope she doesn’t freak out too much. I know I did the first time. I sighed as I sat back; I could finally relax a little. Mercury will be home soon, he would go out with the warriors in the woods hunting down rogues. He still loves to go out with them, so let's see what stories he comes home with.”Chapter 102Barry's POVI was getting the itch, the itch to head out, and giving them a surprise attack, but something told me that they would know. My spy came to me last night and told me that Ava Isiah's mate had a son. "Oh, is that right?" Rubbing my hands together. "So now I have another plan of attack. If she doesn't willingly come to my side, I will take the boy and keep him for myself. When he grows up, I will teach him how to be a trained killer. He will eliminate the threats one by one. That's my plan. So, let her reject me time and time again; I have my own plan. They had no idea that the nurse is my spy. They better be lucky she didn't bring the baby right to me. It's the only way for them to understand that I mean business."Bryce's POVIt's strange having my half-sister here with me. She had told me about her ex beating her so badly that she had lost her baby. I felt so bad for her. I wish I was there to help her. But something else was nagging at me. I feel that our fam
Chapter 101Mercury's POVThis son of a b*tch thinks he's going to get out of here. I knew Cheyenne had a daughter with her second mate, but who am I to judge? I had a son with my second mate – a son who is traveling the world right now. When everything went down, he knew his mother was to blame for trying to kill Cheyenne. He told me he wanted to travel the world to find himself and that he would come home once he was done. He calls me from time to time to check in. But this bastard almost killed her daughter, not to mention destroyed the child she was creating inside her. We all looked at each other as Cheyenne walked over to the chain beside the wall. Pulling on the chain made Donald rise up, his feet no longer near the floor. We stepped underneath him, and then Cheyenne spoke to him one more time."Donald, you have only one chance, and that is to go back home and forget about Carrie. She is long gone, and you will never find her." He laughed a sinister laugh, his face turning to a
Chapter 100 Royal Guard Blair PovAs soon as we heard the queen's link letting us know there was someone in the woods that shouldn't be here, we went on the attack. There shouldn't be anyone here who did not belong. I smelled them right away, but I also sensed anger and revenge. What in the world did this person have in mind? I pointed at my crew, mind-linking them. I told them to hide their scent, circle around this person, and that's what we did. We covered our scent. We were so close that I could put my clawed hand right into his back and rip his heart out. But I was told not to harm them, but to put them in the dungeon and then chain them up so they are unable to get away. Once we surrounded him, we came forward. That's when I decided to speak with authority. When I do this, it scares the h3ll out of them.“How dare you come on royal ground to spy on the royals? What right do you have here?” The man jumped, turned, and his face went pale. He knew he was caught. I watched his bitt
Chapter 99Cheyenne POVWith everything that has been going on - the war and the new lycan rogues coming into the kingdom - I haven't had a chance to relax. We got Kayla back, and then we had the queen ceremony. I kept thinking all of this was just a dream. I was going to wake up and we would be heading home with Kayla. But I knew this wasn't going to happen. She was now the queen of lycans. I knew in other countries there were kings, even a few in another state, but nothing like this. I kept feeling something was off, like I was being watched, but I wasn't really sure until I saw the eyes in the woods. Yes, I know it sounded like a horror movie, like "The Hills Have Eyes," but right now, I saw those eyes in the woods. I wasn't sure who it was; I had never smelled the scent before. But whoever it was, if they knew what was good for them, they would stay as far away as possible. I'm not the one to be messed with, and I wasn't having it. We have another week to train, and then I guess B
Chapter 98Lucas POV,I was trying so hard not to laugh when Sasha was mindlinking me about everything that was going on in the meeting. She told me that Kayla had a hold of Jen's tongue. Corey was looking at me like I was crazy until I told him what was going on; he was the one who started laughing first. It was a few hours later when she walked into the office. She talked to me about a ball that a few lunas wanted to organize for their sons and daughters so they could find their mates. I agreed, but after the war was over, I wanted no danger at this mating ball."Tell me what else happened in the meeting," she looked from Sasha to Corey to me again. I couldn't help but chuckle."Something tells me that you already know what happened. I couldn't help it. I had to put her in her place. I don't like being disrespected, and if I have to put someone in their place, I will." All I could do was laugh, walked over to her, and hugged her."My little firecracker, I knew you would do it. It's
Chapter 97Kayla's POVI stood there, watching them, their mouths falling open. They didn't think I would come into the room saying what I said. Three were in the back snickering because they knew they didn't say anything. The others had their jaws open and didn't know what to say once I walked into the room. Walking further inside, Sasha closed the door behind us.“So, ladies, do you have anything else to say before we start this meeting? I would love to hear your thoughts about me. As you can see, I am not a child; I am twenty-four years old. The king is not married to a child. If I kept you waiting like I did, there must be a reason, right? Well, there was a reason, and that reason is none of your damn business. So, let's start this meeting so you can go home and be there instead of here. Let's go around the room; tell me who you are and what is going on in your pack. If you wish to be heard, let me know, and we will come back around. Let's start.”“My name is Nation. I'm the Luna
