Damian’s mouth moved dangerously close to the nape of my neck as he inhaled deeply, the feeling sending a searing sensation through me, making my core tighten.
As he lowered his head slightly, trailing along the line of my neck down to my lips, a loud howl was heard vibrating through the packhouse.
He stilled, though he didn’t move away, his eyes darkening again as he captured my lips once more. Then another howl followed, this one sharper, more strained, like a cry filled with pain.
Damian finally pulled away, his expression turning unreadable. I could tell he had shifted into the mind link, his eyes flashing with a quiet intensity as yet another howl echoed.
