Danny lowers his eyes on his plate while I hold my cup up to shield my face. With a whisper, I get Arawn’s attention, and I shake my head. “Be nice. Please.” But he just scoffs, emptying his cup of coffee. “I have to make a phone call. Hurry up, Dan.” “Aam alrdy hwrrng.” Danny munches, looking like an abandoned puppy dog. Leaning forward, I get him to halt while looking at me. “Don’t be sad. We can do something fun next time.” He nods repeatedly, smiling happily, and I sit back up straight.

I grab fur, muscle, bone…anything I can hold onto. “RUN!” I scream for the hundredth time. The wolf twists, eyes never leaving Catherine. And then… “What are you guys doing? Shooting a Hollywood action movie?” The voice cuts through everything, laughing. I whip my head around. Danny. Standing there. Alive. Oblivious. Annoying. He’s staring at me like I’ve finally lost my last brain cell. I open my mouth. Can’t he see this? Can’t he see the wolf? Can’t he see…

The one connected to my Sexy Red persona. Danny's name flashed on the screen. What could he possibly want? My hands were shaking as I grabbed the voice modulator and answered. "Hello?" I said in my altered voice. "Sexy Red, hi," Danny said, and something in his tone made my stomach drop. "Hi," I responded carefully. "I thought about everything you said," Danny continued, his voice oddly calm. "And there's something important I need to tell you. Can we meet? Just briefly. In the next ten minutes. This is very important."

"What?? You can't... You gave me your word." Nathan's smile grew even wider, his eyes glinting with amusement. "Yes, I did give you my word," he said, his voice dripping with sarcasm. "I have a perfect answer for your question, remember?" Mr. Daniel's face contorted in confusion, his eyes narrowing as he struggled to understand Nathan's words. Nathan's smirk grew even wider as he delivered the final blow. "You have your Phrase and Clause starting with the word 'Death'."

I bit my lip hard enough to taste blood. The door creaked, and Phantom strolled in with his trademark calm, though tonight he wasn’t wearing his pristine white suit. Instead, black clung to his frame, sharp as a blade. His smile was venomous. “Well, well,” Phantom drawled, circling Damon like a predator. “How the mighty have fallen. You’re not looking so sharp, Damon.” Damon lifted his head, spitting blood onto the floor. “Go to hell.” Phantom chuckled. “Oh, we’re already there.” His voice dropped, sharp with menace. “Where’s the flash drive?”

Instead, he gives her an appreciative smile. Phantom, however, does not have any qualms about saying anything. “Please tell me that I’ve died and gone to heaven. Because a beautiful angel is standing before me. What’s your name, Sugar?” Mal rolls her eyes and cocks her hip with a jeer. “Sorry, cowboy, but I have a boyfriend.” Phantom doesn’t back down, though. If anything, his smile widens into a sexy sneer. “Trust me, sugar, once I take you to bed, you’ll forget all about the boyfriend. Call me, Clint.”

DAMIEN’S POV With the events of the night before, I felt confident that my plan was in place. Jubilant over my double achievements of winning myself over to Athan’s side and getting into the golden leaves pack, I decided to inform the master. After listening to my achievements, he will be proud of me. The phone only rang once, when the gruff voice picked up and answered answered. ‘From the blood of the pure.’ That voice always sends chills down my spine. Can this man not be a little less frightening?

In a single desperate motion, he reaches forward and clings to the figure in front of him. "Save me," Danny whispers, his entire body trembling. "I think I’m about to be murdered."

“Elara!” My search is rudely interrupted when Hannah’s cloying voice comes from the screen again. “Do you want Damon to be your daddy?” she asks Danny, and from what it looks like, she seems to be in the hospital. “Yes!” Danny replies excitedly. “I want him to be my daddy. Can he really be my daddy, Mom?” “Of course he can,” she smiles, cupping his face. “Just do as I say, and soon enough, he’ll be your actual daddy in no time.”

I say with a small sad smile. "We'll see about that Lameo" Danny says patting my shoulder. "Wait did you just.." I trailed off. Did he just link Romeo and I together by giving us the name Lameo. "Yes I did" Danny says laughing as we get up from the couch not wanting me to punch him. "Lameo is a slang for 'Lame' Danny that means Romeo and I can never be a thing" "Let's bet on it. Ten pancakes single handely made by you" I smirked.
