The boys looked as handsome as ever with their suits and masks matching the colour of their clothes. Dominic went for black as usual with a mask that had little flowers. Rhys was dressed in white and gold. If I thought he couldn't pull off anything, I was lying to myself. While I had recovered enough to move around and even had to beg Dominic to attend, he made me use crutches. So here I was with a simple black suit and a plain black mask with my crutch under my arm. It was the easiest costume I could gather given the time I had to prepare. White dress, soft feathers, a halo and a golden mask. I stepped in through the massive doors. Loud music blared all around as everyone danced along The main hall was packed and filled with several unknown faces. Dozens—maybe over a hundred—people, all dressed in Halloween costumes and masks. Skeletons. Witches. Vampires. Demons. Darth Vader, hell there was even someone dressed as Voldemort too. As I stared around for any kind of familiar face, a guy dressed as a giant banana walked past me handing me a red plastic cup.

That way, I would be able to see what was about to happen and capture the moment. From my observations, this was a costume and mask party. People came in and went out wearing real princess dresses for the women and tuxedos for the men while they had their eyes or entire faces masked. Damien must have set up this party to achieve his party like he used to. I couldn't blame him for doing this because I had caused almost all his benefactors to abandon him the last time. I wonder how he would take me if he were to see me right now.

Everyone but the Phantom, who’s been gone all day, is waiting there, all of my werewolves. They’re all dressed like Fleming, in tight black or silver silk shirts, designer jeans, and black boots. They’re all wearing fashionable jackets in different styles. And like Fleming said, they’re all shimmering with glitter, but it’s somehow not feminine on them. Tristan comes up to me like a missile seeking heat, and takes my hand, kissing it on the inside of my wrist.

I fail. And she’s wearing the Pink Panties. Torture. My need is a slow, dull ache. I’ll have to shower. Again. “Come on.” My voice is thick with desire, but fortunately she doesn’t seem to notice. We head upstairs, and she ducks into the guest room while I explore the walk-in wardrobe to see what other clothes Danny has brought to the house. Danica appeared by the door a few moments later wearing SpongeBob pajama bottoms and an Arsenal FC shirt.

She acted like she could not hear anyone. Finally, Dad stepped forward and pried her fingers open one by one. Dad looked like he had aged years overnight. His hair had gone gray, and his shoulders sagged. He did not carry himself the same way anymore. Danny wore the matching outfit we owned, the only one in pink. (Jenna POV) The lights in the ballroom dimmed, and a bright spotlight flashed on the grand staircase. Beth soon appeared, Danny at her side. They walked slowly down, with Danny’s hand at Beth’s lower back. Beth looked fabulous. She was wearing a pink pale dress, and the pink and blond wig Ashley helped her pick out months ago. More strikingly, Danny’s red tie had been replaced with a pale pink one that matched Beth’s dress. It was such a small thing, and yet it felt like a gut punch.

“I’m sorry this happened to you. I promise they’ll pay for it.” “Are we free to return? I sense no immediate danger,” the large man who smothered my mouth says, his voice gravelly. I glance at the other werecoyotes, now in human form. Their postures are rigid, shoulders squared, encircling us like a living wall. Muscles bulge from oversized limbs, their presence so intimidating I wouldn’t be surprised if accidental deaths followed in their wake. “Your guards are terrifying,” I mouth to Phantom. “They won’t hurt you.” Phantom steps back, unbuttoning his shirt. He strips it off, tossing it to the ground. His wink is quick, magnetic, before he kneels, flexing his muscles.
